FC 26 Team of The Week 4 Predictions!

ByAaron

While there have been better weeks, this upcoming TOTW looks considerably stronger than the previous one, with names like Vini Jr, Bruno Guimarães, and Caicedo taking centre stage for TOTW 4.

Marvin Schwabe - GK - 77 > 81 OVR

Four saves, clean sheet  /  Hoffenheim 0 - Koln 1  /  1.5 Kicker Rating

There were numerous keepers I could have opted for, with Schwäbe, Onana, Pau López, and Lopes all standing out. With the Bundesliga having limited options, especially with cornerstone Díaz likely ruling himself out, Schwäbe stands out to me, with the Bundesliga quota being filled this way.

Jordi Alba - LB - 78 > 82 OVR

Two goals  /  Inter Miami 4 - New England 1  /  9.3 Sofascore Rating

After back-to-back snubs for Messi, I am not going down that route again despite his three assists. Instead, we look to his teammate Alba. The Spanish defender scored two of Inter Miami’s four goals during their comfortable 4-1 home win.

Lynn Wilms - CB - 80 > 83 OVR

One goal, one assists and clean sheet  /  West Ham 0 - Aston Villa 2  /  9.2 Sofascore Rating

There was just one standout option in the WSL this week, making the selection in the division pretty routine. Wilms, who played in a CB role, was involved in both Villa goals with one goal and one assist as the away side went on to record a 2-0 win.

Jose Carmona - RB - 79 > 85 OVR

One goal  /  Sevilla 4 - Barcelona 1  /  8.2 Sofascore Rating

With Sevilla recording a 4-1 home win over Barcelona, I find it difficult to see them missing out on this week’s side. There was no obvious candidate, with four different goal scorers and assisters. Carmona was among the goals, however, and recorded the highest match rating, which in turn makes sense for the Spaniard to get the nod.

Vini Jr - LM - 89 > 90 OVR

Two goals  /  Real Madrid 3 - Villarreal 1  /  9.8 Sofascore Rating

EA have claimed to be slowing the power curve down, however with some of these cornerstone players, I see no reason why Vini can’t be included despite it only being week four. The Brazilian scored twice from LM to help guide Real Madrid to a routine 3-1 home win over Villarreal.

Bruno Guimares - CM - 86 > 87 OVR

One goal and won penalty  /  Newcastle 2 - Forest 0  /  9 Sky Rating

With Bruno claiming a 9/10 from Sky, he was the joint highest-rated player of the week. He was directly involved in both goals, scoring the first before winning the penalty for the second. There are also limited big names this week, meaning a Bruno addition gives EA something to headline with.

Moises Caicedo - CDM - 87 > 88 OVR

One goal  /  Chelsea 2 - Liverpool 1  /  8 Sky Rating

For the first time under Slot’s reign, Liverpool have lost back-to-back Premier League games. Caicedo was the standout player throughout the match, delivering a strong defensive display and scoring a superb opener. After last week’s underwhelming TOTW, an IF Caicedo would be warmly welcomed.

Vicki Becho - RM - 79 > 85 OVR

Hat trick  /  Lens 1 - Lyonnes 8  /  10 Sofascore Rating

The current meta looks to favour female options due to the quick turns they can perform. Another pacey option looks to be arriving on Wednesday, with Becho scoring three times during a colossal 8-1 away win over Lens.

Donyell Malen - RM - 79 > 82 OVR

Two goals  /  Villa 2 - Burnley 1  /  8 Sky Rating

Malen’s pre-season form looked highly promising, but that didn’t translate to his Premier League performances, with Villa also struggling early on. It’s now back-to-back wins for them, though, as they look to get back on track. Malen scored twice on Sunday, spearheading them to a 2-1 win over Burnley.

Antoine Semenyo - LM - 80 > 85 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Bournemouth 3 - Fulham 1  /  9 Sky Rating

As always, there is a bit of a delay on EA’s first SIF. With this only being week four, there is a slight risk in including Semenyo, but with the Ghanaian featuring in week one, a three-week gap is often realistic. Semenyo continued his phenomenal start to the season, scoring twice and assisting another as Bournemouth came from behind to beat Fulham 3-1.

Yoan Bonny - ST - 76 > 81 OVR

One goal, three assists  /  Inter 4 - Cremonese 1  /  8.5 Gazzetta Rating

Bonny received Player of the Week in Italy after being directly involved in all four Inter goals during their 4-1 home win. I wouldn’t rule out a featured upgrade here, and if that does become reality, we’re looking at a very strong IF.

Substitutes

Zambo Anguissa - CM - 82 > 84 OVR

One goal  /  Napoli 2 - Genoa 1  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

Once again, I struggled with defenders for the bench, so I have opted for an additional midfielder as a result. Zambo was named MOTM as his goal helped Napoli secure a 2-1 home win over Genoa, a result that keeps them top of the Serie A table.

Sofiane Diop - LW - 76 > 81 OVR

Two goals  /  Monaco 2 - Nice 2  /  8 L’equipe Rating

It was a tight encounter as Monaco hosted Nice, with both sides coming away with a point after playing out a 2-2 draw. Both Fati and Diop scored twice for their respective sides, but with the former already featuring in TOTW, Diop is seemingly the favourite, especially after earning an 8 from L’Équipe.

Vivien Endemann - RM - 80 > 83 OVR

Two goals, two assists  /  Essen 0 - Wolfsburg 8  /  10 Sofascore Rating

Another demolition job in the women’s game saw Wolfsburg score eight without reply on their travels to Essen. Several IF candidates emerged from that match, as you would expect. Endemann is the most viable option, having scored twice and assisted another two from RM.

Matt O’Riley - CDM - 78 > 82 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Metz 0 - Marseille 3  /  8 L’equipe Rating

Marseille went to the top of the Ligue 1 table on Saturday after recording their fourth consecutive league victory. The IFs have been flying in for them, and another could be on the way come Wednesday. O’Riley played in a deeper CDM role and excelled, providing both a goal and an assist to claim MOTM.

Matteo Cancellieri - RM - 72 > 80 OVR

Two goals  /  Lazio 3 - Torino 3  /  8 Gazzetta Rating

With EA showing multiple non-golds making the bench for consecutive weeks now, I would expect that trend to continue for the foreseeable future. Cancellieri likely benefits from this, with his base card being silver. His brace during Lazio’s enthralling 3-3 draw saw him pick up MOTM with a respectable 8/10.

Emerson - ST - 65 > 80 OVR

Two goals  /  Lyon 1 - Toulouse 2  /  8.6 Sofascore Rating

Emersonn came on too late to be awarded an official L’Équipe match rating, but his performance shouldn’t go under the radar. The Brazilian entered the game in the 71st minute with Lyon leading 1-0. Just over twenty minutes later, the match had been flipped on its head, with Emersonn scoring twice to secure a surprise 2-1 away win for Toulouse.

Mert Komur - ST - 68 > 80 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Augsburg 3 - Wolfsburg 1  /  1.5 Kicker Rating

Strikers were extremely limited outside of silvers, and for that reason there are a couple on the bench, which actually suits the way EA have been doing things so far. Komur takes the final bench slot, with his goal and assist helping Augsburg beat Wolfsburg 3-1.

Reserves

Jeremy Ngakia - RB - 69 > 80 OVR

Two goals  /  Watford 2 - Oxford 1  /  9.5 Sofascore Rating

Fran Alvarez - CM - 69 > 80 OVR

Hat trick  /  Bruk 2 - Lodz 4  /  10 Sofascore Rating

Jack Payne - CAM - 69 > 80 OVR

Hat trick  /  Colchester 6 - Chesterfield 2  /  9.8 Sofascore Rating

Rayan Philippe - LW - 72 > 80 OVR

Two goals  /  Hamburg 4 - Mainz 0  /  1 Kicker Rating

Theo Bair - ST - 71 > 80 OVR

Hat trick  /  Lausanne 5 - Young Boys 0  /  10 Sofascore Rating
