TOTW 7 has the potential to be huge, especially when it comes to the defence. With braces from both Van de Ven and Hakimi they lead the way alongside Bellingham’s El Clásico performance and Putellas who stood out during the UEFA Nations League.
Kamil Grabara - GK - 79 > 82 OVR
Seven saves, penalty save and clean sheet / Hamburg 0 - Wolfsburg 1 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
Goalkeepers were once quite easy to select, but this season has been anything but that, with EA including some extremely rogue options. Grabara should be a predictable choice though, after the Polish keeper was superb between the sticks for Wolfsburg in their 1-0 away win. A penalty save, alongside numerous other stops, was required to secure his clean sheet.
Katie McCabe - LB - 87 > 88 OVR
Two goals / Ireland 4 - Belgium 2 / 8.2 Sofascore Rating
McCabe often performs well on international duty, and despite playing as a LB, is regularly among the goals for them. She added another two to her tally this weekend as Ireland went on to beat Belgium 4-2.
Micky Van de Ven - CB - 82 > 84 OVR
Two goals and clean sheet / Everton 0 - Tottenham 3 / 9 Sky Rating
Although Van de Ven is the lowest rated defender in this trio, he may be the most in demand. The pacey Dutchman found the back of the net twice on Sunday, with Tottenham being the first team to win away at Everton this season, and convincingly at that.
Acraf Hakimi - RB - 89 > 90 OVR
Two goals and clean sheet / Brest 0 - PSG 3 / 8 L’equipe Rating
I have been hesitant about including Hakimi for a while now, but after a Greenwood inclusion last week surely the same applies to Hakimi. The Moroccan scored twice from RB as PSG cruised to a 3-0 away win over Brest. This TOTW could be one of the best this year, with Hakimi being a highly in-demand option.
Pernille Harder - LW - 86 > 87 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Finland 1 - Denmark 6 / 9 Sofascore Rating
It was an international break for the female side of the game this week, with some important UEFA Nations League fixtures being played. I would expect several IFs from those fixtures, one of which looks set to be Harder. She scored twice and assisted another, with Denmark comfortably beating Finland 6-1.
Alexia Putellas - CM - 91 > 92 OVR
Two goals / Spain 4 - Sweden 0 / 8.7 Sofascore Rating
Both Putellas and Pina scored twice as Spain dominated their semi-final of the UEFA Nations League against Sweden, scoring four without response. I would expect an IF from both the SF matches, with Pina already having a special card and being highly overpowered I’m leaning towards Putellas who was also named the official MOTM.
Casemiro - CM - 80 > 85 OVR
One goal, one assist / Man United 4 - Brighton 2 / 7 Sky Rating
Manchester United made it three consecutive wins with a 4-2 victory against Brighton. Mbeumo was named MOTM, with the Cameroon international scoring twice, but with an Ultimate Scream card currently in packs he is unable to receive an IF. I think United still feature though, and therefore Casemiro stands out, having a goal and an assist.
Jude Bellingham - RM - 90 > 91 OVR
One goal, one assist / Real Madrid 2 - Barcelona 1 / 7.1 Sofascore Rating
While Bellingham’s match rating was actually quite poor, I just can’t ignore a player with a goal and an assist in an El Clásico, which ended 2-1. One of the biggest games in the world almost always results in an IF. Militao is the other option, but with a lot of defensive options and the Brazilian already having an IF, I feel it has to go the way of Bellingham here.
Zambo Anguissa - CM - 82 > 84 OVR
One goal / Napoli 3 - Inter 1 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
Napoli continue to impress in Italy after winning the title last season, and early signs are promising once again. Their 3-1 home win over Inter could have major implications on the title race, even at this early stage. Zambo was awarded MOTM, and with Serie A offering limited options this week, I would be surprised if he misses out.
Jonathan Burkardt - ST - 82 > 84 OVR
Two goals / Frankfurt 2 - St Pauli 0 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
While the Golden Boot race looks to be over after just eight games, excluding the remarkable Kane from the equation would put Burkardt at the top. His latest performance saw the German score both goals in Frankfurt’s 2-0 home win.
Mikel Oyarzabal - ST - 82 > 84 OVR
Two goals / Real Sociedad 2 - Sevilla 1 / 9.1 Sofascore Rating
We saw numerous players with Cornerstones promotional cards feature in EA’s TOTW last week, so it’s clear they are eligible for selection. Oyarzabal fits that category well, with the Spanish international scoring both of Sociedad’s goals in their 2-1 home win over Sevilla.

Substitutes
Matty Cash - RB - 79 > 82 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Aston Villa 1 - Man City 0 / 8 Sky Rating
Aston Villa started the season extremely poorly, but recent results have shown significant improvement, highlighted by this victory over Man City. Matty Cash scored the only goal of the game, which should secure his position in this week’s side.
Ismael Saibari - CAM - 79 > 82 OVR
Hat trick / Feyenoord 2 - PSV 3 / 9.9 Sofascore Rating
This match was first versus second in the Eredivisie, and with PSV taking all three points, the sides are now level on 25 points each after ten games. A Saibari hat-trick ultimately decided the match, handing Feyenoord their first loss of the season.
Felix Correia - RM - 75 > 81 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Lille 6 - Metz 1 / 8 L’equipe Rating
Lille meant business this weekend, with the French side putting in a superb display while hosting Metz on Sunday. Correia excelled in what was a dominant team performance. His two goals and one assist from RM should ultimately secure him a place in TOTW 7.
Yan Diomande - RW - 66 > 80 OVR
One goal, two assists / Augsburg 0 - Leipzig 6 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
With silvers continuing to dominate the bench, it looks as though only the starting eleven is guaranteed to be gold. Leipzig performed a demolition job on Augsburg this weekend, winning 6-0 away from home. Youngster Diomandé excelled throughout, claiming MOTM after scoring once and providing two assists.
Leicy Santos - CM - 81 > 84 OVR
Two goal, one assists / Colombia 4 - Peru 1 / MOTM
With how inconsistent EA were with male internationals I am not overly confident that they will even spot these matches. Santos plays in the NWSL which EA seem to love though. The Colombian scored twice and assisted another with Colombia going on to beat Peru 4 to 1.
Zian Flemming - ST - 73 > 80 OVR
Two goals / Wolves 2 - Burnley 3 / 9.2 Sofascore Rating
This was an early relegation six pointer, recently promoted Burnley ended up coming out on top of the five goal thriller winning 3 to 2. It means Wolves are still without a win this season sitting rock bottom with just two points to their name, seriously worrying for them. Flemming scored two of Burnley’s three and with their consistency with silver selecting he stands out for this weeks side.
Vangelis Pavlidis - ST - 82 > 84 OVR
Hat trick / Benfica 5 - Arouca 0 / 9.5 Sofascore Rating
Pavlidis has been knocking on the door for a while now, but he’s never quite done enough for an inclusion from EA. This weekend he secured a hat-trick though, meaning he surely has to get the nod. Benfica dominated from the get-go, securing a 5-0 home win over Arouca.
Reserves
Siebe Van der Heyden - CB - 73 > 80 OVR
Two goals and clean sheet / Gent 4 - Standard Liege 0 / 9.4 Sofascore Rating
Elvis Saric - CM - 71 > 80 OVR
Three goals, one assist / Guoan 2 - Hainiu 4 / 10 Sofascore Rating
Alex Badolato - CM - 58 > 80 OVR
Hat trick / Newcastle Jets 5 - Melbourne Victory 2 / 10 Sofascore Rating
Leo Walta - CAM - 69 > 80 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Sirius 4 - Elfsborg 0 / 10 Sofascore Rating
Emre Tezgel - ST - 62 > 80 OVR
Hat trick / Crewe 3 - Grimsby 2 / 9.5 Sofascore Rating
