FC 24 90 Golazo Saeed Al Owairan Player Review - Cop or Flop

Al-Owairan has arrived and I guess most of us were wondering if this item will perform like his previous special cards in FIFA 23…

I don't think I've ever come up against his normal hero item in FC 24 but a year ago in FIFA 23 I couldn't go a few games without seeing him in my opposition's team.

Anyway before we continue it is worth mentioning that this isn't the only Al Owairan item released today there is a better version on the market and you can see that item by clicking here, at the time of me typing this he's costing x3 what the SBC costs and given the minimal upgrade I'd expect that price to come down quite a bit.

I was tempted to use him as a Striker but decided to keep him on the wing for the most part and given how he was in front of goal I feel that was definitely the right decision.

I debated between Finisher and Hawk for the chemstyle but ended up going with hawk which nearly maxes out his pace, gives him a noticeable physical boost and also some nice upgrades for his shooting attributes which did look to be needed in some areas.

The overall cost of this SBC is around the 675,000 coin mark and the community seems kind of torn on it's value as seen with the voting, It's not a cheap SBC by any means but even before discussing whether he's worth it or not I would like to point out EA have added alot of objectives today which give out loads of fodder. 

How did he perform in-game?

+ Pace, is anyone surprised? He was rapid on the break and if you play with a counter-attacking style you're going to be a fan of this item.

+ I thought he dribbled really well and if you watch the video he is one of them players who just seems to get that lucky bounce...the kind you really hate to happen against you.

+ Passing, he just seemed to have really nicely weighted through balls and his crossing is also really solid.

/ 4* Weak Foot, I can't hammer this too much but there were occasions where his weak foot just felt like it was 2*. 

- Shot Power, this is the main thing that let the item down for me. I found his shooting to be pretty accurate but it just seemed to lack that venom to beat the goalkeeper at times.

Goalazo Al Owairan - Cop or Flop?

It was a fun item to use and that counts for something in this year's game cycle, I can understand why some people are not a fan of the price but I actually think the price is quite fair given the performance of the player in game and the fact there is so much fodder readily available if you're willing to play for it. If Team of the Season wasn't so soon I'd be recommending heavily to try this item out.

It's definitely not on the level of Al Owairan in FIFA 23 but this version is definitely a big upgrade on his normal hero in this years game, if you need a striker there are so many better options but if you're in need of a winger...it's one to consider, but again TOTS shouldn't be too far away so I wouldn't recommend rushing to do this SBC.
