It’s final season, 2 down and 1 to go. After Atalanta destroyed Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin, and Barcelona took home the UWCL, it’s time for the final club match before Euro 2024… 

The Champions League Final.

Representing each club via the showdown SBCs are Jamie Bynoe-Gittens for Borussia Dortmund and Joselu for Real Madrid

Both cards have the potential of a +2 upgrade so we’re going to have a quick run through of each item and how we think the game will play out.

Is the Bynoe-Gittens SBC Worth It?

The JBG SBC is coming in at just over 100,000 coins and is the cheaper of the two options, it’s clear to see who EA Sports think will come out on top. Compared to cards already released, this isn’t a top, top tier item but still one you can have fun with. If Dortmund get the job done then this will be an incredible pick up!

Is the Joselu SBC Worth It?

Joselu is coming in as the more expensive option, around 200,000 coins, double the price of Bynoe-Gittens, but Real Madrid are expected to come out on top. Early impressions suggest that he’s already an incredible striker and a +2 in all stats will make him even better. The 92 Dribbling combined with 5* Skills and FIrst Touch+ mean he rarely loses the ball and can create chances from nothing!

Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid Info and Predictions

This game kicks off on Saturday 1st June at 20:00 UK, Wembley Stadium, London.

It really is a David vs Goliath matchup in this matchup. Dortmund have been underdogs in every round so far including the group stage. In the other corner we’ve got Real Madrid. This is their tournament, you can be 2 goals up with a minute to go and they’ll still knock you out… just ask Manchester City.

Dortmund’s last win against Los Blancos came in the 2014 Champions League where they were knocked out over 2 legs. Real Madrid only secured their 10th Champions League back in 2014 and already look to make it 15 at Wembley.

Not only is this a huge game for both teams, but also the final match for two club legends, Marco Reus and Toni Kroos. Kroos will be retiring after the European Championships with this being his last Real Madrid game, and Marco Reus will be leaving BVB after 12 years with the club.

Many see this being a very straightforward victory for Real Madrid but the Champions League always throws up some surprises. We’re going to go for a Dortmund win and Bynoe-Gittens to get the +2!

How Do Showdown SBCs Work?

A Showdown SBC consists of 2 SBCs featuring players from teams from an upcoming big fixture - in this case, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid. 

You can choose to complete either or both of these, however the upgrades are based on the result of the upcoming fixture. +2 for a win, +1 for a draw and No Boost for a loss. However with this being a final, the outcome will be a +2 for whoever lifts the trophy even if the game ends in a draw.
