FC 24 Make Your Mark Xavi Simons Player Review - Cop or Flop?

Content certainly has been on absolute overdrive since the build-up to the Euros kicked off hasn’t it? So many players now available in the SBC section! With the Path to Glory promo out of the way we now embark onto the next promo in the Make Your Mark promo! 

This promo featuring a bunch of players that will be appearing at the Euros and of course, these are live items so have the chance to get a nice additional boost! In the SBC section for today we have none other than Xavi Simons! I managed to get my hands on his TOTS  item early into it’s release and that card was really impressive! Will this fresh new version follow suit?

Simons drops straight into the main team for me ready to lay some assists for the squad. Admittedly I'm already in the position of feeling like it’s outdated to still be using TOTS items with the amount of incredible cards that have already dropped, but as we move with the promo I'm sure this team will change significantly. 

It’s worth noting that for me this card looks like an excellent winger, despite coming out as a CAM. He can play both left and right wing so I would recommend playing him out wide. I used him as a wide CAM to get the best of both worlds.

Chemstyle of choice for me here was the Marksman. Similar to the TOTS item, you want to put those extra boosts on maxing out the dribbling, raising up the shooting and giving his strength the help it needs.

Really not that of an expensive SBC here with only 4 segments to complete coming in at roughly 400k. I think this is an easy to complete SBC considering how accessible packs are right now.

How did he perform in-game?

+ Pace was just as you would expect, especially when completely maxing it out. He was rapid.

+ Absolutely Phenomenal on the ball, he dribbled with near perfection. Blended in with his pace made him feel unstoppable.

+ Passing was also very impressive. He did a great job at whipping in passes and playing off those quick short passes.

+ Shooting was also relatively decent but massively shadowed by how easy the finesse shots were.

+ Positioning was also great. He was always looking to make those counter attack runs that again mixed in with how quick he is, felt unstoppable.

/ The only downside to this card is that if the opposition catches him before he manages to get going, his Strength will let him down despite having a relatively decent amount of strength.

Xavi Simons - Cop or Flop?

I didn’t really touch on the 4 playstyles thing as already that’s become the new norm but he has a cracking set of playstyles. Not a huge boost on the previous TOTS card but don’t forget this is a live item. I was going to complain about the chem side of things but once Xavi makes his debut for Netherlands, he will be granted the max chem boost. 

All in all this is a fantastic card with great stats, which is what you would expect to see at this stage of the game. He isn’t a gamebreaking card but will absolutely get into your team and make the difference. This one is a big cop from me!
