FC 24 Futties Paulo Dybala Player Review - Cop or Flop

Another week of Futties is here! I will say this second team doesn’t feel majorly exciting but that Rolfo and Pele of course do catch my eye and look unreal. Hansen and Best also with some decent cards but I think we’re all waiting for a Futties Mbappe to drop.

For SBCs again this week we have been treated to a Futties and a Futties Icon in Butragueno and Paulo Dybala. So of course we are going to pick that Dybala up and take him for a spin.

Dybala certainly has not been shy when it comes to special items this year. A whopping 9 versions of this man has been released so far and with each he has improved so much. I still remember how impressed I was with his 90 Rated POTM item from earlier in the year. This boost from the previous TOTS item isn’t huge but he does of course come with an additional playstyle+ which is never a bad thing.

I initially wanted to use Dybala in the CAM position but for the first few games I struggled to get him into action and remembered how much I enjoyed him when I used him at RW in the past so I figured why not try him as a CF in the 4321 formation. 

For Playstyle here I have gone with the hawk. It gives 99 pace and shooting to match that 99 dribbling he already has so this feels like a no brainer.

This SBC is coming in just shy of 300k. At this stage I think the cost of the SBC isn’t as big of a factor as it would have been a few weeks ago because we of course are in the stage where fodder is impossible not to have. So 4 segments and a 300k price tag seems more than reasonable to me.

How did he perform in-game?

+ Dribbling on this card was incredible on this card, he held the ball so tight to his feet and easily made his way around players. 

+ Shooting felt great on this card, especially of course using the Finesse and 5* Weak Foot. He just couldn’t miss.

+ Passing felt almost perfect on this card. Pinged pass of course worked wonders especially when using a striker with first touch+. But the crossing also was executed perfectly.

/ Positioning as a CAM wasn’t amazing as he fell back quite often but put him in the CF/ST role and his attacking positioning was spot on. Always in the right place to quickly receive the ball and curl it into the top corner of the net

- Strength was a little disappointing as he very often felt easily forced off of the ball.

Dybala - Cop or Flop?

As I said from the beginning I really enjoyed the previous versions of this card. So I had high hopes for using this card. For the most part it was a fun item but as I mentioned earlier I was not a fan of this card using this card at CAM. However as a CF/RW option he was great. Whipped the ball in the box with ease and the finesse from the outside corner of the box always seemed to flow in.

This isn’t an endgame card and I think it’s a shame this isn’t a Premium Futties version but this is still a fun card that is very much worth the pickup.
