The Premier League returns tonight with Manchester United taking on Fulham at Old Trafford. Instead of putting our immaculate ball knowledge to good use, we’ve decided to let FC 24 cards decide the 2024/25 Premier League Table. The rules are simple, the higher rated a club's best card is, the higher they’ll be placed. We’ll start from 20th and work our way up so we don’t spoil it too early on…

20th - Southampton - Finishing bottom of the table is Southampton, with 89 TOTS Walker-Peter as their highest rated representative. THe Saints were only given 4 special cards throughout the entire of the season and none higher than 90, FC 24 has them rock-bottom.

19th - Ipswich - If Ultimate Team ratings are anything to go by, then Ipswich are heading straight back down after one season. 91 Rated Leif Davis is just their second special card of the year leaving them in 19th.

18th - Leicester City - Imagine my shock, all 3 promoted teams are going back down. Leicester look to be getting a points deduction in real life so relegation is certainly a possibility. 92 TOTS Moments Vardy isn’t enough to see them survive here.

17th - Brentford - Ivan Toney is coming to the rescue once again, it’s his 93 MYM card that keeps them above the drop. Brentford in 17th isn’t exactly a wild shout as they only finished 1 place above in 23/24…

16th - Wolves - FC 24 ratings have Wolves in 16th place, with the 94 Showdown Joao Gomes as their highest rated. With them now losing Pedro Neto, would 16th place be a successful season for Wolves?

15th - Brighton - The Seagulls have been treated to a plethora of special cards in FC 24, but none higher than 94 Copa America Jeremy Sarmiento who spent the season on loan with Ipswich. Returned from loan, bagged the highest rated card at the club and secured a higher rated finish in these predictions.

14th - Crystal Palace - You might expect Michael Olise to be the highest Palace card but his 88 Future Stars earlier this year is all he has to offer. 95 Showdown Eze secures 14th place for The Eagles, is this realistic now they’ve lost Olise?

13th - Nottingham Forest - 96 Montiel leaves Forest finishing 4 places higher than their 23/24 position. He has now left the club but that doesn’t matter to us, his Copa America MYM locks in their mid table finish.

12th - Bournemouth - Representing Bournemouth is Copa America Tyler Adams and it’s another 96 rated. However it’s 94 Sinisterra that comes in clutch for the Cherries, beating out the 93 Sangare as the tie breaker

11th - Newcastle United - Would you believe it, another 96 rated Copa America card. Bruno G locks in an 11th place finish for Newcastle with 94 Trippier and Targett creating the gap between 12th.

10th - West Ham - The new Futties Todibo takes them up 4 places into 10th, if it wasn’t for him being released in Team 5, they’d be way down in 14th!

9th - Fulham - Another new entry from Futties Team 5 and it’s Adama Traore who can now play as a CB… Before Traore was released we had Fulham down in 13th with Jimenez as their highest rated. Is 9th a possibility for Fulham this season?

8th - Aston Villa - Will Champions League football prove to be too much for Unai Emery? This prediction seems to think so. 97 Emi Martinez is The Villa’s highest rated item in FC 24 with his 97 Copa TOTT card with the 96 Ollie Watkins creating the gap between Fulham’s 2nd highest card.

7th - Manchester United - 7th would actually be a very successful season for Manchester United and an improvement on their 23/24 campaign. A 97 Rashford with a bunch of 96s supporting the 2nd place secure European football for United.

6th - Everton - Is it that surprising that Jordan Pickford is coming to Everton’s rescue again, even in our Premier League Predictions. His 98 PTG card bumps The Toffees up to 6th place but will sit at the bottom of the 98s with 94 Onana being their 2nd highest rated.

5th - Arsenal - The last of the Premier League clubs without a 99 Rated is Arsenal and before 6pm tonight they were sitting 4th. A 99 card for 4th place dumped The Gunners out of the UCL spots and into the Europa League. They surely can’t drop this far down after competing for the title, surely…

4th - Tottenham Hotspur - Heung Min Son saves Spurs once again. His inclusion in Futties Team 5 has leapfrogged them from 5th into 4th, ahead of Arsenal. With Solanke added to their attack, could Top 4 be a real possibility for Spurs this season?

3rd - Chelsea - Yep, Chelsea are 3rd. With nearly 50 first team players registers and 9 Goalkeepers surely there’s 11 that can perform. With 98 Palmer and Nnunku following up from 99 Enzo Chelsea locked in 3rd ahead of Spurs who only had 1 98 rated.

2nd - Manchester City - No 5 in a row for Manchester City according to FC 24. Only the one 99 rated card for Manchester City but with 2x 98s and 7x 97s as their back up they end up 2nd. They opened the season with a Community Shield win but will be without Mr Invincible for their opener against Chelsea.

1st - Liverpool - Based on FC 24 ratings your 2024/25 Premier League winners are Liverpool. With 99 Salah and 99 van Dijk, The Reds are the only PL team with multiple 99 rated cards leaving them as clear winners.

Will Arne Slot’s men with the league in his first season in charge, or will Arteta get hold of his first Premier League trophy? Let us know your predictions for the season in the comments!
