Real Madrid went bold this summer. After winning their 15th Champions League trophy there was absolutely no need to go and sign one of the worlds best players, but they did anyway. Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid was given the Here We Skedaddle and obviously scored on his debut. We’re 3 matches in but Los Blancos are already 4 points off the pace… Here’s how we think Carlo’s boys will look in FC 25.
Starting XI
Thibaut Courtois (90>90)
Courtois spent most of the season out injured and made just his 5th appearance of the season in the Champions League final. We always expected him to take his number 1 spot back, but not as easily as he did. There wasn’t much he could do wrong last season, but also couldn’t do too much right with just 450 mins under his belt so we’ve kept him at 90.
Dani Carvajal (82>84)
The first upgrade in the team goes to Dani Carvajal. He had a very impressive season, scoring the winner in the UCL final then going on to win Euro 2024 with Spain so we’ve gone for the +4. His year was great, but we do think that the Ballon d’Or shouts might have been a bit too much.
Eder Militao (86>86)
We’re 3 players in and have had more ACL injuries than upgrades so far. Eder Militao had a very similar year to Courtois, picked up an unfortunate ACL injury and spent the majority of the season out injured. Again he’s not had any time to do much so we’ve kept him an 86.
Antonio Rudiger (85>86)
Since leaving Chelsea to join Los Blancos, Toni has just kept on improving season after season and 23/24 was no different. He was one of the best defenders in La Liga last season and took his impressive form into the Euros. We’ve gone for a +1 but could easily rise to 87 or even 88…
Ferland Mendy (82>82)
It was a decent campaign for Ferland Mendy, but we’re not expecting too much of a change in FC 25. We’ve opted to keep him the same rating after only playing in half of their league matches last season.
Luka Modric (87>87)
Luka Modric is simply never going to lose it, he can stay at the top for as long as he wants. The Croatian oozes class on the pitch and with a history of older players losing huge amounts in Pace, we’ve kept him the same heading into FC 25. His midfield partner Toni Kroos retired this summer so we need to enjoy Luka while he’s still on our pitch.
Fede Valverde (88>88)
Fede Valverde can’t leave me and my 84x10s alone this past month but he’d be more than welcome to appear in that first month of FC 25. He was incredible in this year's game and we’re excited to see what he can offer in 25. It was a good season for the Uruguayan but there wasn’t enough from him to push up into the 89 bracket.
Jude Bellingham (86>89)
We’ve gone big for Jude. After an incredible first season with Real Madrid we think he'll be given a massive +3. There’s potential for a 90 but we’d like to give him room for improvement in FC 26 (sorry for talking about it already…). UCL and La Liga double in his first season in Madrid, no wonder they love him already.
Rodrygo (85>86)
With all the focus on Madrid’s left hand side, it could be Rodygo who shines this season. 17 goals across all comps was a decent return for the Brazilian meaning we’ve upped him to an 86 rated.
Kylian Mbappe (91>91)
Last season he took too many yellow cards, so he has to change that this season. It was a good season for Mbappe but it was in Ligue 1, which compared to La Liga is a little bit less competitive. We’ve kept Mbappe the exact same but we’d expect his price to be even higher now he has a Real Madrid badge on his card.
Vini Jr (89>90)
Is it VIni’s time to win the Ballon d’Or? He has been one of Real Madrid’s best players this season and scored the goal which killed off the Champions League final. We’ve gone for a +1 as he’s just not on the same level as Bonmati, Mbappe or Haaland for us. Will no doubt still be an incredible card and one that keeps appearing in our opponents Champs teams.
Bench
The main headline on our substitutes bench is Bobby ‘Endrick’ Charlton. Yamal is the better talent currently which is why in comparison we’ve left him 6 ratings below at 76 compared to 82. Do not worry one bit, we’re sure his spot in Future Stars and many other promos will be coming next year. Similar ratings all around with goalkeeper Lunin with the biggest after he stepped in for Courtois last season.
