Rush is the brand new game mode included into the FC 25, being playable across 4 already existing modes - Ultimate Team, Clubs, Manager Career Mode and Kick Off. You and 3 others (with an AI Goalkeeper) will take on other teams online to claim Rush glory!

It is EA Sports’ take on the small side 5v5 social football experience, while harnessing the same gameplay controls and football mechanics of 11v11. In short, it’s 5-a-side football with 11-a-side goals.

Gameplay

The way to play rush is near enough the exact same as regular FC, with some very slight changes. Kick Off will be swapped out for a Race to The Ball start. A ball launcher will propel the ball onto the field and it’s anyone's game. The Offside rule will also be changing for Rush. It will follow the same rule as 11 a side offside, but you can only be offside past the final dotted line.

If a match ends in a draw, it will initially be taken to Golden Goal but if neither team can find a winner the match will be decided by 1vs1 penalties.

Events

To keep Rush exciting and fresh, different events will be live in order for you to use and compete against a new set of players in each event. Events are designed to offer a new layer of Squad Building to your gameplay experience, with entry requirements varying from Item Rarity, Attributes, and Nations/Leagues/Clubs.

Rush Points

Rush Points are the primary way to earn rewards and complete Rush Objectives which will be set each week. You will unlock points for just playing matches but can also earn points for the following - Winning a match, playing with friends, winning multiple matches in a row or completing blocks.

Blocks are optional challenges you and your team can complete when building your Rush squad which change each match. These can target Item Rarity, Attributes, and Nations/Leagues/Clubs with each block giving you either bonus points or a points multiplier.

Ultimate Team

The rush gameplay for Ultimate Team and Clubs will be the same but it’s the player selection and rewards where the modes differ. When playing Rush in Ultimate Team you and 3 others will each select a player from your Ultimate Team club to fit the restrictions and will be rewarded with packs, XP and other Ultimate Team related items.

Clubs

In Clubs Rush you and 3 others will take your Clubs player into rush. The gameplay will remain consistent with Ultimate Team but you will only have your player for selection. You will compete for Victory Points to boost your Rush Rank in order to place better for seasonal Clubs rewards.

Double rewards can be unlocked in both of these modes by playing with friends during Early Access

Kick Off and Manager Career Mode

Rush will also be available in Kick Off and Manager Career Mode. Kick Off Rush allows you to choose any team in the game and line them up on the 5-a-side pitch.

Rush brings a new way to interact with your Youth Academy in Manager Career. You can play small-sided 5v5 games with youth players, giving you more control over the development of your young prospects.

Pitch Changes

The Rush pitch will be more than 40% smaller than the standard 11-a-side pitch. This smaller pitch shape is designed to encourage lateral passing and maintains adequate width that helps prevent the playing area from feeling too narrow. Two dotted lines mark each third of the pitch, indicating the points at which the offside rules start to apply. Goal post sizes remain the same as those in 11v11 football.
