With high expectations set by TOTW 1, it was always going to be difficult to replicate that level. However, there are several standout options for your side this week. With Luis Díaz and Raphinha both scoring twice, while Michael Olise continues to impress in Germany, and Bremer offers another strong Brazilian center-back option.
Peter Gulácsi - GK - 82 > 84 OVR
Four saves and clean sheet / St Pauli 0 - Leipzig 0 / 1 Kicker Rating
I opted for the wrong goalkeeper last week despite mentioning either France or Germany. We're using the same logic again, but I am much more confident in my selection of Gulácsi after he earned a perfect 1 rating from Kicker. The Hungarian made a total of four crucial saves that helped Leipzig secure a point.
Matteo Gabbia - CB - 77 > 81 OVR
One goal / Inter 1 - AC MIlan 2 / 7 Gazzetta Rating
One of the biggest games of the weekend was the Milan derby. It was a close match, with the winning goal coming late in the 89th minute. Gabbia scored that goal and should be rewarded with an IF card.
Bremer - CB - 86 > 87 OVR
Clean sheet and MOTM / Juventus 0 - Napoli 0 / 7 Gazzetta Rating
Last week, several deserving players were overlooked for more "meta" options. I had Bremer as a strong contender for the defense, and I believe EA will take this opportunity to include him. His NIF card is already excellent, so there will be serious demand for his IF. Bremer was outstanding in Juventus' 0-0 draw.
Wilfried Singo - CB - 79 > 82 OVR
MOTM / Monaco 3 - Le Havre 1 / 8 L’equipe Rating
Defenders were tough to select this week, as very few stood out. For that reason, I’ve opted for non-attacking performances with high match ratings. Singo fits this category, with his defensive display earning him an 8 from L'Equipe.
Michael Olise - RM - 82 > 84 OVR
Two goals, two assists / Bremen 0 - Munich 5 / 1 Kicker Rating
Olise has settled into life in Germany seamlessly, with Vincent Kompany getting the best out of the Frenchman. Harry Kane was surprisingly snubbed last week, but hopefully, Olise won’t suffer the same fate, especially after claiming a perfect 1 from Kicker
Ruben Neves - CM - 84 > 86 OVR
Two assists / Al-Hilal 3 - Al-Ittihad 1 / 8.8 Sofascore Rating
In the Saudi league's top clash between first and second, Al-Hilal came out on top. I consider the Saudi league on par with Portugal now, so this match should stand out to EA. With Neves providing two assists from midfield, he seems a strong candidate for TOTW 2.
Rasheedat Ajibade - RW - 83 > 85 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Valencia (W) 0 - Atletico Madrid (W) 4 / 9.7 Sofascore Rating
This looks like a strong early game IF card. With Ajibade being directly involved in three goals on Sunday, she stands a good chance of inclusion. With 91 pace, 4-star skills, and good shooting stats, will you be adding her to your side?
Luis Díaz - LM - 84 > 86 OVR
Two goals / Liverpool 3 - Bournemouth 0 / 9 Sky Rating
Díaz has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League’s early stages. Under new management, Liverpool is clicking right away with no signs of a post-Klopp hangover. The Colombian's brace earned him the joint-highest match rating of the week.
Raphina - LW - 84 > 86 OVR
Two goals / Villarreal 1 - Barcelona 5 / 8.6 Sofascore Rating
This spot could go to either Raphinha or Robert Lewandowski, but with EA showing a clear preference for popular players, I’m leaning towards the Brazilian. Raphinha scored both the fourth and fifth goals as Barcelona dominated Villarreal.
Laura Freigang - ST - 83 > 85 OVR
Hat trick / Potsdam (W) 0 - Frankfurt (W) 6 / 9.1 Sofascore Rating
With three players from the women's game included last week, it seems EA will continue giving them more recognition. Freigang is an easy choice after scoring three in Frankfurt's dominant 6-0 win.
Nicolas Jackson - ST - 79 > 82 OVR
Two goals, one assist / West Ham 0 - Chelsea 3 / 9 Sky Rating
Jackson received criticism last season despite a decent goal tally. He’s continued his form and is arguably one of the best strikers in the Premier League. His three goal contributions on Saturday should cement his place in TOTW 2.
Substitutes
Dean Henderson - GK - 79 > 82 OVR
Seven saves and clean sheet / Palace 0 - Man United 0 / 9 Sky Rating
Crystal Palace is still without a win after five games as they struggle to adjust to life without Olise. However, Henderson’s heroics helped them secure their third point of the season, making multiple crucial saves to deny Manchester United and keep a clean sheet.
Pol Lirola - RB - 71 > 81 OVR
Goal and assist / Lyon 2 - Marseille 3 / 8 L’equipe Rating
A five-goal thriller played out in France, with Marseille fighting their way to a 3-2 win over Lyon. Pol Lirola stood out, despite only coming off the bench at halftime, by providing both a goal and an assist from right back. He was named Man of the Match with an 8/10 rating.
Enzo Millot - RM - 77 > 81 OVR
One goal, two assists / Stuttgart 5 - Dortmund 1 / 1 Kicker Rating
Stuttgart shocked Borussia Dortmund this weekend, thrashing them 5-1. Several players impressed, but Enzo Millot took the headlines by scoring once and assisting two other goals in the convincing win.
Vicenzo Grifo - LM - 80 > 83 OVR
Two goals / Heidenheim 0 - Freiburg 3 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
There were several standout performances in the Bundesliga this week, particularly from wide players. Vicenzo Grifo is another standout, as the Italian winger scored twice during Freiburg’s 3-0 win over Heidenheim.
Evander - CAM - 77 > 81 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Portland 4 - LA Galaxy 2 / 9.9 Sofascore Rating
This situation is similar to last week’s scenario with Vanaken, who was snubbed, but the MLS holds more weight in EA's decisions. Therefore, I’m confident with the inclusion of Evander. He was involved in three of Portland's four goals, making him crucial in their victory.
Youssoufa Moukoko - LW - 77 > 81 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Nice 8 - St Etienne 0 / 8 L’equipe Rating
Although Guessand earned Man of the Match with a 9/10 rating, I can’t justify including a silver striker with only one goal and one assist when other players scored hat tricks. However, the 8-0 victory will not go unnoticed, so Moukoko, who scored twice and assisted another goal, is my choice for inclusion.
Ivan Toney - ST - 80 > 83 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Al-Ahli 4 - Damac 2 / 9.4 Sofascore Rating
The Saudi Pro League is starting to provide some serious contenders for your Ultimate Team. Ivan Toney is another usable option likely to appear in TOTW 2 after the Englishman scored twice and assisted another as Al-Ahli secured all three points.
Reserves
Francisco Moura - RB - 74 > 80 OVR
Two assists and clean sheet / Vitoria 0 - Porto 3 / 8.5 Sofascore Rating
Joel Monteiro - LM - 72 > 80 OVR
Hat trick / Winterthur 1 - Young Boys 4 / 10 Sofascore Rating
Kiko Seike - RW - 72 > 80 OVR
Hat trick / Brighton (W) 4 - Everton (W) 0 / 10 Sofascore Rating
Leonardo Rocha - ST - 66 > 80 OVR
Hat trick / Radomiak 4 - Korona 0 / 9.4 Sofascore Rating
Isac Lidberg - ST - 65 > 80 OVR
Hat trick / Schalke 3 - Darmstadt 5 / 1 Kicker Rating
