Thunderstruck Confirmed Upgrades - Saka, Saliba, Kounde and more...

The first set of Thunderstruck Fixtures is over and we’re already being treated to some tidy upgrades. Going forward I’ll recap these on the following Tuesday, but as we had midweek fixtures I thought we’d push back a couple of days to squeeze those in. We’ve got 8 upgrades coming from 4 clubs, with some even getting their full upgrades already!

Arsenal - Vieira, Saka and Saliba (2 x PlayStyles, 2 x Role+ and +1 OVR)

After putting 5 past West Ham in the first 45 minutes we expected Arsenal to hit their goal target by 50 minutes, unfortunately the second half was fairly quiet meaning we had to wait until their matchup with Manchester United. 2 goals and a win followed meaning all 3 Arsenal based cards receive their upgrades. Where would they be without set pieces?

Chelsea - Desailly and Cole (2 x PlayStyles, 2 x Role+ and +1 OVR)

The second set of full upgrades go to the cards tied to Chelsea who brushed off Aston Villa in their first game, and let’s be real didn’t need to move out of second gear away at Southampton. You’ve still got 4 weeks left to complete Desailly now we know he’ll be getting fully upgraded.

Barcelona - Riquelme and Kounde (1 x Role+ and +1 OVR)

Barcelona may have lost their opening Thunderstruck fixture at home to Las Palmas but they made up for that performance away at Mallorca. A 5 star showing took them to the 6 goals required giving Kounde and Riquelme one new Role+ and a +1 OVR. Their remaining fixtures are against Betis, Leganes and Atleti, I’d be very surprised if they don’t win at least one of these three.

Athletic Club - Unai Simon (2 x PlayStyles and 1 x Role+)

Unai Simon may have been injured for the majority of this season but that does not matter when it comes to promo cards. Athletic won both of their opening games 2-1 meaning 2 new Play Styles and a Role+ for Unai. But with him already having both GK Role+’s, will we see his Sweeper Keeper upped to a Role++?
