There are numerous standout players within TOTW 13 as it looks set to be one of the most desirable to date. Whether that's Salah securing a new contract, Timber featuring after his goal against United, or Musiala and Griezmann both scoring twice, there are plenty of players to look forward to.
Donovan Leon - GK - 70 > 86 OVR
Eleven saves and clean sheet / Auxerre 0 - PSG 0 / 10 L’equipe Rating
I’m relieved Leon has a four-week gap, as this decision would’ve been incredibly tough otherwise. With eleven saves, nine of which came inside the box, Leon was crucial in securing a point for Auxerre against PSG. It’s likely the best goalkeeping performance we’ll witness this year.
Wilfried Singo - CB - 79 > 84 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Monaco 2 - Toulouse 0 / 8 L’equipe Rating
I’ve been wrong about Singo in the past, but this time feels different. The Ivorian looks like a sure bet after scoring one of Monaco’s two goals and earning an impressive 8/10 rating from L’Équipe, the second-highest of the week.
Jurrien Timber - CB - 79 > 86 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Arsenal 2 - Man United 0 / 8 Sky Rating
With Saliba featuring in the recent Thunderstruck promotion, I am unsure if he can get in. Timber was named MOTM during their first fixture of the week, a 2-0 win over United. With a featured upgrade, I am sure he will be a popular card as well.
Maxim De Cuyper - LB - 76 > 83 OVR
One goal, one assist / Mechelen 1 - Brugge 2 / 9.4 Sofascore Rating
Brugge could easily look back at this result come the end of the season, with their last-minute winner being a crucial deciding factor. Cuyper provided the assist for the winner, adding to his goal earlier in the match. There were a lot of strong defensive options this week, and it’s difficult to decide who ends up missing out.
Mohamed Salah - RM - 89 > 91 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Newcastle 3 - Liverpool 3 / 8 Sky Rating
Although Liverpool ended up dropping points due to a last-minute Schär goal, Salah was simply magnificent throughout, contributing to all three Liverpool goals. Now, with a four-week gap, the Egyptian can receive another IF, and it looks as though he's not wasting any time about it.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan - CM - 83 > 86 OVR
Two assists / Inter 3 - Parma 1 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
At 35 years old, Mkhitaryan remains a key player for Inter Milan, earning a +2 upgrade from last year. His two assists this weekend further underline his influence and make him a strong candidate for his first promotional card of the game
Jamal Musiala - CAM - 87 > 88 OVR
Two goals / Munich 4 - Heidenheim 2 / 1 Kicker Rating
Musiala has been ignored a couple of times due to his trailblazer card but I believe there has now been enough room between the two for Musiala to now be included. The German received a perfect 1 match rating from Kicker as his brace hlped secure a 4-2 win for Munich
Cole Palmer - CAM - 85 > 87 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Tottenham 3 - Chelsea 4 / 9 Sky Rating
Chelsea came away with all three points as they played out a seven-goal classic with Tottenham. The hosts went two goals up early on, but Chelsea soon came back into the match with star man Palmer once again pulling the strings. Palmer was snubbed last week, but I can’t see the same happening again this time around.
Roberto Firmino - CAM - 80 > 86 OVR
One goal, two assists / Al-Taawoun 2 - Al-Ahli 4 / 10 Sofascore Rating
With Firmino being a popular name, I would expect his chances to further increase for this side and additionally put him high on the featured list. The Brazilian is yet to feature in a promotion, but his three-goal contributions on Saturday look set to change that on Wednesday.
Jonathan David - ST - 81 > 86 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Lille 3 - Brest 1 / 8 L’equipe Rating
All three Ligue 1 selections seem easy to make this week, with the three selected standing out in their positions and via L’Équipe ratings. David was another who received an 8 after the Canadian scored twice and assisted another during their 3-1 win over Brest.
Antoine Griezmann - ST - 88 > 89 OVR
Two goals / Atletico Madrid 4 - Sevilla 3 / 9.4 Sofascore Rating
Strikers were few and far between this week, and we will likely see at least one random inclusion as a result. Griezmann was one who stood out, though, scoring twice. The Frenchman helped Atletico come out on top of a seven-goal thriller with Sevilla.
Substitutes
James Tavernier - RB - 78 > 84 OVR
Goal, assist and clean sheet / Rangers 6 - Kilmarnock 0 / 9.3 Sofascore Rating
Rangers are not close to the level they require to challenge for the title this season and sit eleven points behind leaders Celtic as a result. Their latest performance was a comfortable one, though, scoring six without reply. Tavernier is a familiar face within the EA community and looks set to start his year off after scoring one and assisting another.
Alex Iwobi - CDM - 77 > 83 OVR
Two goals / Fulham 3 - Brighton 1 / 8 Sky Rating
Fulham are going a little under the radar, but they continue to push towards European places. A 3-1 home win over Brighton was led by a superb Iwobi performance. The Nigerian scored twice while playing a defensive midfield role. It’s been a while since his FUT Rush card, so I fully expect an inclusion here.
Morgan Gibbs-White - CAM - 79 > 84 OVR
Goal and assist / Man United 2 - Forest 3 / 8 Sky Rating
Although Amorim has shown promising signs since taking charge of United, the results are still lacking. Forest took full advantage of this, securing a 3-2 win on the road. MGW was the standout performer, contributing a goal and an assist, earning him the MOTM award.
Dominique Janssen - CDM - 84 > 86 OVR
One goal, two assists / Man United 4 - Liverpool 0 / 9.2 Sofascore Rating
Janssen operated in a more advanced CDM role this weekend, and the change paid off well with three goal contributions and a MOTM display. Janssen’s base stats suit the CDM role more so than a CB, so the positional change in terms of the game will come as a welcoming one.
Ismael Saibari - CM - 76 > 86 OVR
Two goals, two assists / PSV 6 - Twente 1 / 9 VI Rating
Saibari is one of the most IF players around right now. He was knocking on the door last week for a SIF, but a 3-week gap was not enough. Now, with a fourth week and a ridiculous performance against Twente, the SIF is inevitable.
Jonas Wind - ST - 78 > 84 OVR
Two goals / Wolfsburg 4 - Mainz 3 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
Wolfsburg and Mainz played out a thrilling seven-goal encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Wind’s second-half introduction proved decisive, as he scored in the 84th and 94th minutes to completely turn the game around.
Nick Woltemade - ST - 69 > 83 OVR
Two goals / Stuttgart 3 - Union Berlin 2 / 1 Kicker Rating
Woltemade was named Bundesliga POTW by Kicker after his double helped Stuttgart secure a 3-2 win at home to Union Berlin. While non-golds rarely come out of the reserves, with limited ST options this week, it makes sense that Woltemade will.
Reserves

Two goals and clean sheet / RB Salzburg 4 - Hartberg 0 / 8.7 Sofascore Rating

Oliver Valaker Edvardsen - LM - 69 > 83 OVR
Hat trick / GA Eagles 5 - NEC 0 / 8.5 VI Rating
Sebastiano Esposito - CAM - 72 > 83 OVR
Two goals / Verona 1 - Empoli 4 / 8 Gazzetta Rating
