FC 25 Team of The Week 14 Predictions

ByAaron
16-Dec-24 14:19

We have seen a couple of strong TOTWs recently, so a less desirable one was overdue. Unfortunately, this is that week, with limited big-name players performing. Headlining, we have SIFs for both Son and Katoto, while a featured Sarr looks like a strong option.

Geronimo Rulli - GK - 79 > 85 OVR

Six saves  /  Marseille 1 - Lille 1  /  8 L’equie Rating

France could have easily been snubbed entirely this week, with options being few and far between. Realistically, we will see at least two, and the easiest to include was goalkeeper Rulli. Although Marseille failed to win or keep a clean sheet, the Argentine’s six saves ensured they came away with a point, and L’Equipe awarded him the joint-highest rating of the week.

Antonee Robinson - LB - 79 > 84 OVR

Two assists  /  Liverpool 2 - Fulham 2  /  8 Sky Rating

An early red card for Robertson made it a difficult night for the hosts. Robinson ran riot down the left-hand side all match, providing the assist for both their goals. Although Liverpool scored late to salvage a point, I think Robinson has still done enough.

Lisandro Martinez - CB - 84 > 86 OVR

One assist  /  Man City 1 - Man United 2  /  7 Sky Rating

Amad Diallo is the man that should be included here, but due to his recent form and the proximity of his previous IF, he can’t feature. With the rivalry comeback occurring the way it did, I expect United to still feature in this week’s side. Martínez is the only other option, after he provided the late assist, alongside a few defensive options.

Carolin Simon - LB - 81 > 85 OVR

Two goals  /  Munich 2 - Potsdam 0  /  9.9 Sofascore Rating

Potsdam have been shocking this season, earning just one point from their opening twelve matches and suffering a -33 goal difference. Surprisingly, Munich only managed a 2-0 win against them. Simon scored both goals from left-back, which will likely be enough for her IF.

Francisco Trincao - RW - 78 > 85 OVR

Two goals  /  Sporting 3 - Boavista 2  /  9.4 Sofascore Rating

Since Amorim's departure, Sporting's results have taken a U-turn, but they got back to winning ways this week with a 3-2 victory over Boavista. Trincão scored two of the three goals, putting him in contention for a SIF.

Ismaila Sarr - CAM - 76 > 86 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Brighton 1 - Palace 3  /  9 Sky Rating

Palace have turned their form around, going unbeaten in five matches, including a 3-1 away win over Brighton. They now sit four points clear of relegation and look like a completely different team compared to just a few weeks ago. Sarr was the standout during the win, scoring twice and providing an assist.

Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa - CM - 80 > 85 OVR

One goal  /  Udinese 1 - Napoli 3  /  7 Gazzetta Rating

Serie A was another division I struggled to find options for, but we continue to see numerous inclusions from them, so I have had to force a couple in. Anguissa likely benefits from that after he was named MOTM for his goal during their 3-1 win.

Jae Sung Lee - CAM - 76 > 86 OVR

Two goals  /  Mainz 2 - Munich 1  /  1 Kicker Rating

Munich had started to open up a gap at the top of the table but were stunned by Mainz on Saturday, falling to a 2-1 defeat. Sung Lee scored both goals for Mainz, cementing his place in this side.

Heung Min Son - LM - 87 > 89 OVR

One goal, two assists  /  Southampton 0 - Tottenham 5  /  8.9 Sofascore Rating

The misery continued for Southampton, who sacked their manager just hours after the final whistle. Tottenham ran riot, securing a dominant 5-0 win with all the goals coming in the first half. Son was instrumental, scoring once and providing two assists before being substituted at halftime.

Marie Katoto - ST - 88 > 90 OVR

Two goals  /  St Etienne 0 - PSG 3  /  9 Sofascore Rating

There were limited big-name players to include in TOTW, with several of the big sides failing to win. Katoto helps to include a high-rated option after her double secured PSG yet another win. There will be a five-week gap between her IFs, so I can’t see that being an issue here.

Youssef En-Nesyri - ST - 83 > 86 OVR

Two goals  /  Fenerbahce 3 - Basaksehir 1  /  8.2 Sofascore Rating

It comes as no surprise that, due to the number of low-scoring matches this weekend, strikers were difficult to select. En-Nesyri could easily fill the Turkish league quota this week after his double for Fenerbahçe secured a 3-1 home win.

Substitutes

Marco Carnesecchi - GK - 82 > 85 OVR

Eight saves and clean sheet  /  Cagliari 0 - Atalanta 1  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

It’s been a while since we have seen more than one goalkeeper in TOTW, but with numerous divisions seeing several low-scoring matches, there’s a high possibility we see two this week. The second I have predicted is Carnesecchi, with the Atalanta stopper making save after save to claim MOTM as they secured a 1-0 away win.

Sergio Gonzalez - CB - 72 > 83 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  Barcelona 0 - Leganes 1  /  8.2 Sofascore Rating

Leganes scored early on, with central defender Gonzalez applying the finishing touch. That goal ended up being enough for them as they defended superbly throughout to ensure they shocked Barcelona with a 1-0 win.

Jacob Murphy - LW - 76 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  Newcastle 4 - Leicester 0  /  9 Sky Rating

Ruud’s honeymoon period is officially over, with Newcastle delivering a comfortable 4-0 victory over them. Several players are in line for an IF from the match, but I have opted for Murphy after he scored two of the four and received the joint-highest match rating with a 9.

Alessane Plea - CAM - 77 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  Gladbach 4 - Kiel 1  /  1.5 kicker Rating

The Bundesliga selections were by far the easiest to make this week, with those that made the side seemingly cemented in for EA’s selection. Plea scored twice during Gladbach’s 4-1 home win to claim a 1.5 from Kicker.

Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba - ST - 78 > 84 OVR

Hat trick  /  Al-Jazira 1 - Al-Ain 3  /  9.9 Sofascore Rating

We have seen numerous divisions receive their first IF of the game in recent weeks, and Laba could result in another. The Togo international scored all three of Al-Ain’s goals as they recorded a 3-1 away win. This one entirely depends on whether EA are willing to give the division an IF or not.

Isaac Palazon - ST - 81 > 85 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Vallencano 3 - Real Madrid 3  /  8.3 Sofascore Rating

La Liga provided several shocks this weekend, one of which was Vallecano taking points off Madrid in a 3-3 draw. Palazón caused several problems for the favourites and ended up recording both a goal and an assist.

Santiago Gimenez - ST - 79 > 84 OVR

Hat trick  /  Feyenoord 5 - Heracles 2  /  8 VI Rating

The Eredivisie was robbed of an SIF Saibari last week due to one of several baffling decisions. However, Giménez looks like a certainty this week after his hat-trick helped Feyenoord secure a comfortable 5-2 win.

Reserves

Noe Dussenne - CB - 73 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  Lugano 1 - Lausanne 4  /  9.4 Sofascore Rating

Lukas Kubler - RB - 74 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  Freiburg 3 - Wolfsburg 2  /  1.5 Kicker Rating

Killian Corredor - CAM - 69 > 83 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Darmstadt 5 - Kaiserslautern 1  /  Kicker POTW

Alessandro Gabrielloni - LM - 69 > 83 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Como 3 - Roma 1  /  8 Gazzetta Rating

Jan Kopic - RM - 72 > 83 OVR

Three goals, one assist  /  Plzen 7 - Dynamo 2  /  10 Sofascore Rating
