Following on from our Ronaldo review we’ve got another footballing icon in King Kai! Who had the most incredible left back item in last year's Ultimate Team it’s a shame he didn’t get that Alt position for this.
If you were not aware this one is a player pick choice SBC and while there was a bit of debate on social over which version was best, the most popular on FUTBIN was the CM version, and that led to our choice.
So with that in mind we put Havertz to work in a midfield paired with fellow new FUT Birthday item Marchisio, we also opted for the anchor chem style to help boost his Pace/Def/Phy.
Here are the following segments to unlock the Kai Havertz FUT Birthday SBC:

10 SBC’s in total bringing up the cost to just over 1.2million, Yeah.. it’s alot! So for him to be worth it he’s really going to need to perform like his LB Winter Wildcard item did in FUT24!
How did he perform in-game?
+ Interceptions, Play styles play such a huge role in FC25 and one area where Kai really stood out was in regards to his ability to intercept a pass, his long legs were regularly stealing the ball from passes.
+ Aerial Ability, Given Havertz is 6’3 and has 99 Jumping you can probably imagine he’s going to win alot of duels in the air, and he makes good on that, both offensive and defensive headers.
+ Passing, specifically the long passing, like I mention a lot Playstyles can make or break an item, even cards with less impressive stats can become high level through the right playstyles for a players position and the Long Ball+ certainly does that here, Havertz can find a player anywhere on the field with it, and with the 5* weak foot, he can do it effortlessly too! It is a shame though that despite being a midfielder, he does only have 1 passing playstyle.
/ Shooting, for a midfielder as a whole his shooting is fine, but given the stage of the game we are at, and the amount of midfielders in the game this area on Havertz just seemed ‘okay’.
- While I did think Kai was solid overall defensively, he does lack in regards to aggression.
FUT Birthday (CM) Kai Havertz - Cop or Flop?
Before I get into this I’d love to hear in the comments from anyone who has used the ST version how they feel about the item given I wont get chance to use it now, that been said I still think the CM version will be the correct choice out of the two given the amount of attackers within the game and I think we all know some good ones will come via SBC very soon…
Anyway back onto this item, simply put and I don’t want to just repeat myself from the previous review but the price point is the main issue, 1.2m is just too much here.
He’s a solid Box to Box CM option, and a really nice CDM option, but he’s not Elite and as much as I want to end on a high given it is an Arsenal item… I can’t due to pricing.
Verdict = Flop
