FC 25 97 Shapeshifters Dalglish Player Review - Cop or Flop

After a real lively week of content and menu grinding, we now walk into week number two of the Futties promo. Yet again, EA have out done themselves with what looks to be another incredible set of players now in packs. Messi, R9, Hansen, Vini, the list goes on.

But the SBC is what we are here for, and two items have dropped today. One in the form of a Futties Sam Kerr item and the other, the player we are here to talk about today, Futties Icon Kenny Dalglish. The king is back, and we are absolutely here for it! Now he has had a fair few items this year, and from his Fut Birthday version, this card has had an overall boost of +3! 

Along with that overall boost, he has been given another two Playstyle pluses from his FUT Birthday item in Incisive pass and powershot. If i’m honest, these playstyles are a little underwhelming. I feel he needed to have a Rapid/Quickstep/Technical here but regardless with 99 shooting and 97 dribbling alongside Finesse and Low Driven plus, I am here for this card.

Honestly for Chemstyle, I would just stick with the basic. It gives him great all-around boosts and gives this card 99 pace, shooting and dribbling. Perfect for a striker.

11 total segments and as i’ve said in previous articles about SBCs during Futties, the cost to these SBCs are almost irrelevant. This is not all about picking the players you want in your squad that will likely remain until the end of the game. That being said, the cost of this SBC is coming in at 450k, and honestly, I think it’s decent value.

How did he perform in-game?

+ It’s no surprise that with a 99 stat, the shooting would be perfect. He can score any kind of goal you could choose from and he does so effortlessly.

+ Dribbling also impressed. The blend of Technical, Trickster and his short body type worked well together, making him incredibly agile amd well balanced on the ball with a little sprinkle of flair to it as well.

/ His pace was fairly decent but this card is absolutely missing a Quick Step and/or Rapid playstyle plus. 

- The strength on this card was a major let down, though. Coming up against a 6-foot-8 Isaak Toure felt impossible. He was often overpowered and at times struggled to get through tougher defenders.

Dalglish - Cop or Flop?

This by no means is a perfect striker. But he can absolutely do a job for you and bag some easy goals. If you’re in a position similar to mine in that you are churning through upgrade SBCs to pack a 99-rated Striker, this item is quite likely a great option to have until the day comes. He’s easily affordable and lives up to his hype. I just wish the Playstyles were slightly replaced but it’s not the end of the world. 

Overall, this is a great SBC that will take no time whatsoever to grind through, it’s absolutely worth the pickup!
