The revamped Club World Cup is well underway and most of you will be familiar with plenty of the teams involved, especially if you’ve used their players in Ultimate Team. But with not all of these teams being included in FUT, they’ll be some names you’ll be surprised to see at the Club World Cup.
We’ve taken a look at some of the best talent at the Club World Cup that are missing from Ultimate Team!
Sergio Ramos
Yep that’s right, Sergio Ramos will be making another set of Club World Cup appearances after his new team Monterrey won the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League. They’ll face off against Inter, Urawa Red Diamonds and River Plate in the group stages.
Thiago Silva
As of writing this Thiago Silva and Fluminense are just about to kick off their Club World Cup campaign with the 40 year old captain the side out against Dortmund for their first match.
Estavao
The Brazilian wonderkid may not have made an appearance in FC just yet, but as of July he’ll be joining up with Chelsea (obviously), with his final Palmeiras minutes coming in this tournament. Definitely one to keep an eye on in the future, should be a lock in for Future Stars…
Felipe Anderson
Sticking with Palmeiras we’ve got Felipe Anderson. We will never forget that FIFA 19 Ones to Watch or League SBC card. An Ultimate Team cult hero looking to make his mark in Group A. Palmeiras held Porto to a 0-0 in their opener with Al Ahly and Inter Miami next up!
Giorgian de Arrascaeta
With the Uruguayan playing in South America we’ve only seen him feature in Ultimate Team on 2 previous occasions. Once as a silver in FIFA 16, and again as part of the World Cup Promo in FIFA 23 where he was an 84 rated card! He opened the scoring for FIlipe Luis’ Flamengo side in their opener against Esperance.
Trezeguet
Premier League fans will already recognise Trezeguet from his time at Aston Villa and this summer he’ll be lining up for 2021 CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly. His tournament isn’t off to the best of starts after missing a penalty in their 0-0 draw with Inter Miami.
Oussama Idrissi
Pachuca have one of the harder groups in the competition having to face Real Madrid, Al Hilal and Salzburg in their opening matches. We’ve picked out Oussama Idrissi as their one to watch, after a career mainly based in Spain and The Netherlands, he’s found form in Mexico for Pachuca!
Ronwen Williams
The South African goalkeeper made a name for himself in 2024 after becoming the first goalkeeper to save 4 penalties in an AFCON shootout. After this tournament he found himself nominated for the Yashin Trophy, an award recognising the best goalkeepers in the world. If Sundowns face a penalty in the CWC, there’s a solid chance Williams will keep it out.
Conor Tracey
You’ll all have heard of Auckland City by now, the semi-professional side facing off against Bayern, Boca and Benfica at the tournament. Their goalkeeper Conor Tracey has taken his entire annual leave and extra unpaid days away from his warehouse job to play. Despite losing 10-0 to Bayern in their opener, Tracey put on a solid performance and made 7 saves against the German giants.
