TOTW 4 Predictions

After what was a poor TOTW 3 side we have the polar opposite coming into week 4. with six players being at least 87 rated and almost a full starting eleven that you would be happy with in your packs this looks set to be one of the best TOTW’s of the year. Time to grind your FUT champs over the weekend!

Goalkeeper

Keylor Navas – GK - OVR 88>>89
When PSG signed Donnarumma most expected Navas would be the keeper playing second string but the Costa Rican kept his place and has been performing well. Costa Rica should probably be beating Honduras these days with the former's side being a strong one but it was a different story with Honduras being the side on top. Navas was named MOTM after making five saves to keep a clean sheet during the 0-0 draw and with international keepers always being difficult to select, he seems to fall into place.

Defenders

Andrew Robertson – LWB - OVR 87>>88
After the disappointment of TOTW 3, this one look to be a brilliant side and Robertson is only the start. The Liverpool LB was an attacking threat as he usually is. Providing constant support down the left-hand side and in turn assisted twice for Scotland as they recorded an important three points during a 3-2 win over Israel. Mctominay also scored while playing as CB but I feel that Robertson is the obvious choice here.

Josko Gvardiol – CB - OVR 75>>84
Of all the names possible for a featured TOTW, I doubt Gvardiol was top of EA’s list. When you look at his base stats however it is a real opportunity to add another meta player to the game. With a double upgrade, Gvardiol looks to be an outstanding card. Either way, he should be making TOTW 4 after scoring once and helping to keep a clean sheet during Croatia’s 3-0 away win over Cyprus.

Daley Blind – LB - OVR 82>>84
Many expected an easy win for the Netherlands at home to Latvia but it was anything but that with a hard-fought 1-0 win being the eventual outcome. Although Blind was not involved in the goal, he still put in a shift worth mentioning. A lot of the play came through Blind and he also helped defensively where required. Probably the weakest of the defenders I have selected but you have to take a punt or two during international weeks.

Midfielders

Ferran Torres – RW - OVR 82>>84
Torres could be selected as either a RW or a ST with the Spaniard started the game out wide but then soon swapping with Sarabia after the game had started. Usually, EA goes for the starting line-up though and thus that is why I have opted for RW. Torres has looked lively for Man City in patches this season but has been dropped for recent fixtures. He looked at his best for Spain this weekend though, scoring both their goals to send them to the Nations League final via a 2-1 win over Italy, ending their record-breaking undefeated run, which goes way back to 2018 and includes a European Championship.

Jadon Sancho – LW - OVR 87>>88
Foden was the mastermind during England’s convincing 5-0 win over Andorra but with a TOTW 3 inclusion, it rules him out of this side. Another who impressed was Sancho, who is still struggling to find minutes at United. Sancho has looked good for England though and another two assists to his name saw him awarded a 9/10 from Sky, something which I doubt will be ignored.

Sadio Mane – CAM - OVR 89>>90
Just as you're thinking this week is too good to be true, we move onto a central Mane card. Internationals often provide strong TOTW’s but this is on another level. Mane was heavily involved in Senegal’s 4-1 home win over Namibia, scoring once and assisting twice from a CAM position.

De Paul – CDM - OVR 82>>84
This one is a bit of a punt based on how easily OTW items managed to make the side last week. Lo Celso seems to be the best option but with the Argentine playing out wide I can’t justify yet another winger. We then turn our attention to De Paul who also played a strong game for Argentina in their 3-0 win over Uruguay, scoring the second goal and helping defensively throughout.

Raphina – RM - OVR 82>>84
Brazil was stunned going into the half time interval finding themselves 1-0 down to Venezuela. Raphina came off the bench to make his international debut for the second half and what an impact he made. He recorded two official assists and also won the penalty to help Brazil save their blushes and record a 3-1 win. Raphina also recorded another assist but the goal was ruled out. It’s not often I will select a player who has come off the bench but the Leeds midfielder definitely deserves some recognition here.

Riyad Mahrez – RW - OVR 86>>87
Algeria has been a dominant force in Africa for a while now and it doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon with a strong side created now for them. Mahrez is one of the highlights and as is often the case is heavily involved in their games. The latest result being a 6-1 win over Niger from which the winger scored twice and caused an OG. There are a few right-sided players this week, ironically mostly from the Premier League but Mahrez is unlikely to miss out I feel.

Forwards

Kylian Mbappe – ST - OVR 91>>92
Moving onto a big one now and I would expect the Nation League fixtures to have a preference this week with them being the semi-final and finals. France recorded a 3-2 win over Belgium to progress to the final with Mbappe being involved in two of the three goals, recording both a goal and an assist. Theo Hernandez also scored a late winner .

Substitutes

Antony Silva – GK - OVR 71>>78
I struggled for a second keeper, at least a gold one and thus instead of guessing a completely random one I have opted for a strong silver one instead. Silva was outstanding for Paraguay during their 0-0 draw with Argentina. In total, he made eight saves to keep his clean sheet which against a side like Argentina stands out.

Joakim Maehle – LB - OVR 77>>81
After both Robertson and Gvardiol the defensive side of the prediction becomes significantly more difficult. There are a couple of options such as Maehle but as a whole, there are no more that I am overly confident on. Denmark ran away as 4-0 winners at home to Moldova with Maehle scoring one of the four. The Wingback played on the opposite side to what he does domestically offering a different option for your Serie A sides.

Wu Lei – RM - OVR 75>>81
There were two strong options from China with the Wang grabbing a goal and assist from LB, however, I am opting for Wu who scored twice considering that China conceded two goals to Vietnam. Despite the number of gold wingers already on the side I still feel that Wu can sneak in.

Enner Valencia – LM - OVR 75>>81
Enner Valencia is a name I have not heard since leaving the Premier League but the Ecuadorian still plays at a decent level, now over in Turkey for Fenerbahce. He looks set to pick up an IF after scoring twice away on international duty, helping Ecuador to a 3-0 win at home to Bolivia.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting – CAM - OVR 76>>81
I still find the Choupo-Moting story fascinating every time his name pops up. He is one of the most decorated players around without really performing anywhere he goes. The once Stoke rejectee has won league titles in multiple countries and seems to score when called upon. He managed two of Cameroons three goals this weekend from a deeper position during their 3-1 win over Mozambique.

Roman Yaremchuk – ST - OVR 77>>81
It was a weak week for gold strikers with none whatsoever managing to score more than once. It would be impossible for me to guess strikers with one goal that will make the cut, especially with so many top performances elsewhere. Instead, those that have managed both a goal and an assist should be the ones getting the nod. Yaremchuk is one of those, scoring once and assisting the other in Ukraine’s 2-1 win.

Alexander Isak – ST - OVR 82>>84
Let's try and predict the impossible then. Should Monday games end up counting I would highly doubt Isak’s inclusion but without them, there are just no striker options and I can’t see EA only including one or two. That leaves us with the one goal strikers and of them I feel that Isak is the best option, scoring one of Sweden’s three goals and claiming MOTM for doing so in their 3-0 win over Kosovo.

Reserves

Fedor Cernych – CAM - OVR 66>>75
Lithuania is not a side you would expect to win many games at the international level but an impressive performance this weekend saw them come away with a 3-1 home win over Bulgaria, a very respectable result. Cernych scored two of their three goals putting him in a strong position to end up making the reserves.

Sandi Lovric – CAM - OVR 71>>78
There are two strong candidates from Slovenia this week with both Lovric and Ilicic making a case for inclusion. Usually in this scenario, I would have opted for the gold option in Ilicic but with so many wide options available already I feel that the three assists from Lovric, which on paper is the better performance may edge the selection his way this week.

Callum Robinson – CAM - OVR 73>>79
Robinson could make a very good silver star option but one way or another he should be featuring in the promo on Wednesday, The Irish international was the difference this weekend scoring twice for them as they recorded a 3-0 away win over Azerbaijan. The reserves section always has less competition during an international break and thus a hat trick is not always needed.

Ruben Castro – ST - OVR 69>>77
When I saw that Ruben Castro had scored twice and assisted another, I was hoping to see that he was a gold striker option but it’s been a while since Castro was playing at the top and thus the now 40-year-old striker has understandably dropped in rating. Despite now being a silver, I still rate his chances of making the side.

Ibrahima Kone – ST - OVR 61>>71
The bronze to silver selection is an easy one this week with an international hat trick occurring. Mali recording a convincing 5-0 win at home to Kenya, leaving them top of the group with seven points from their opening three. Kone scored three of those five goals and also added an assist for good measure.
