TOTW 4 Predictions FIFA 23

A defensive heavy TOTW 4 sees potentially the best backline in TOTW history with Cancelo, Tomori, Militao and Frimpong all being desirable options. However, outside of the defense there is very little to talk about.

Koen Casteels - GK - 84 > 86 OVR

4 Saves  /  1-1 Draw with Augsburg  /  2 Match Rating

Casteels was handed a -2 heading into FIFA 23 but is now set to return to his 22 rating after being named MOTM during Wolfsburgs draw with Augsburg. Making several vital saves to keep the score level.

Joao Cancelo - LB - 88 > 89 OVR

One goal, one assist and clean sheet  /  4-0 win against Southampton  /  10 Match Rating

While Haaland managed to score again, it was a different name among the headlines for once. Cancelo managed to excel at the back, receiving the rare perfect match rating from sky for his goal, assist and clean sheet.

Fikayo Tomori - CB - 84 > 86 OVR

One goal and clean sheet  /  2-0 win against Juventus  /  8 Match Rating

How Tomori is not consistently in the England setup is baffling. The Milan defender continues his superb form with a MOTM performance during an impressive 2-0 win against Juventus.

Eder Militao - CB - 84 > 86 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  1-0 win against Getafe  /  8.7 Match Rating

A tight affair between Getafe and Real Madrid saw one goal be the difference. Central defender, Militao, scored the only goal and is yet another desirable defender set for TOTW 4.

Jeremie Frimpong - RWB - 80 > 85 OVR – FEATURED TOTW

Two goals and clean sheet  /  4-0 win against Schalke  /  1.5 Match Rating

Xabi Alonso’s first game in charge of Leverkusen was a success with a convincing result. Frimpong was superb throughout and should EA decide to make him featured it may be the best back four in a TOTW we have ever seen.

Gabriel Martinelli - LM - 78 > 82 OVR

One goal and one assist  /  3-2 win against Liverpool  /  9 Match Rating

Arsenal continued to show they mean business this season with a hard fought win over Liverpool. The IF is inevitable but could go one of two ways with both Saka and Martinelli impressing. As you can see I have opted for the later.

Bruno Guimaraes - CM - 81 > 84 OVR

Two goals  /  5-1 win against Brentford  /  9 Match Rating

Almiron was robbed of an IF last week but surely it won't be two in two for Newcastle. It’s Guimaraes this week who looks nailed on after he scored twice in yet another impressive Newcastle result.

Mason Mount - CAM - 84 > 86 OVR

Two assists  /  3-0 win against Wolves  /  8 Match Rating

Potter has almost instantly improved Chelsea with some impressive results coming their way since his time in charge. The latest was a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Wolves. Mount was involved in two of those goals to pick up MOTM and in turn, should feature in TOTW 4.

Angel Correa - RM - 83 > 85 OVR

Two goals  /  2-1 win against Girona  /  8.5 Match Rating

With the introduction of secondary positions regardless of where Correa ends up in terms of his IF he is likely to be a popular option within the community. His two goals were vital this week, securing three points for Atletico Madrid.

Edin Dzeko - ST - 84 > 86 OVR

Two goals  / 2-1 win against Sassuolo  /  7.5 Match Rating

Inter needed to start recording some points with several sides beginning to gain some momentum at the top of the table. With Dzeko’s brace securing a well needed win after coming off the back of two domestic losses.

Anthony Modeste - ST - 79 > 82 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  2-2 Draw with Munich  /  No Match Rating

This one is a risk as Kicker didn’t officially give Modeste a match rating due to only playing 30 minutes. With the score at 2-0 Bayern Munich the Frenchman changed the game. Providing an assist just four minutes after coming on before then scoring in the 94th to level the score.

Substitutes

Lucas Chevalier - GK - 67 > 75 OVR

Penalty save, four saves and clean sheet  /  1-0 win against Lens  / 8 Match Rating

With gold goalkeepers being almost inexistant this week I have opted for a silver option on the bench. Chevalier made a string of saves, including one from 12 yards. Helping Lille inflict Lens’s first defeat of the season.

Maximilian Wober - LB - 75 > 81 OVR

Goal and assist  /  3-2 win against Altach  /  8.8 Match Rating

There was a flurry of defensive options this week, hence including six. With Wober playing in Austria there is a risk that he is ignored but with two goal contributions for a gold defender the vast majority of the time he will be included.

Remy Bensebani - LB - 78 > 82 OVR

Two goals  /  5-2 win against Koln  /  1.5 Match Rating

There were seven goals between Gladbach and Koln thus not a defensive masterclass from either side. Bensebani still managed to stand out though for his attacking presence, scoring twice from LB.

Nicolas De La Cruz - RM - 78 > 82 OVR

Three assists  /  5-0 win against Estudiantes  /  8.2 Rating

I was unsure about the Libertadores players receiving IF’s but after the Rodriguez inclusion last week it appears EA are back to including them. With that in mind despite De La Cruz featuring on Thursday, he becomes a strong option after assisting three.

Nicolas Pepe - RW - 79 > 82 OVR

One goal  /  3-2 win against Troyes  / 7 Match Rating

Ligue 1 was near impossible to include this week with Terrier featuring in RTTK and other options being non gold. There will inevitably be at least one included though and Pepe seems to be the only gold option.

Enner Valenica - ST - 75 > 81 OVR

Hat trick  /  5-4 win against Karagumruk  /  9.5 Match Rating

Although two of Valencia’s goals came from the penalty spot with the Ecuardorian being a gold option while also featuring in a nine goal thriller I cant see him missing out.

Joselu - ST - 80 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  2-2 draw with Cadiz  /  9.1 Match Rating

There were several players which walked into this side but attackers were the one position which lacked in terms of obvious candidates. Joselu is a strong shout though after scoring both Espanyol goal during their 2-2 draw.

Reserves

Joe Willis (GK) - 14 Saves, including a penalty save - LAFC 0 - Nashville 1

Knowledge Musona (RW) - Three goals - Al-Tai 3 - Al-Khaleej 0

Daniel Gazdag (CAM) Hat trick - Philadelphia 4 - Toronto 0

Brenner Souza (ST) - Hat trick - DC United 2 - FC Cincinnati 5

Mario Gonzalez (ST) - Three goals and one assist - Waregem 2 - Leuven 5
