TOTW 12 Predictions FIFA 23

With Ligue 1 joining the action, it's only the Bundesliga missing in terms of the top five. TOTW 12 looks to be a top-heavy side with Ben Yedder, Osimhen and Dybala all looking at potential upgrades. Outside of the strikers, we are relying on heavily upgraded featured IF’s for usable cards.

Aaron Ramsdale - GK - 82 > 85 OVR

Seven saves and clean sheet  /  2-0 win against Tottenham  /  8 Sky Rating

With Manchester United beating City, it allowed Arsenal to extend their lead at the top via a rivalry of their own. It was another successful North London Derby with Ramsdale excelling between the sticks. With the gap now at eight points can anyone stop Arsenal?

Nordi Mukiele - RWB - 79 > 87 OVR

Two assists and clean sheet  /  2-0 win against Angers  /  7 L’equipe Rating

Mukiele is almost the perfect option for a featured IF this week after providing the assist on both PSG goals during their 2-0 win With a tasty upgrade potentially on the way it offers a new route into the PSG defence.

Chancel Mbemba - CB - 79 > 84 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  2-0 win against Troyes  /  7 L’equipe Rating

There were several defensive options from Ligue 1 this week but with a couple being silver, their chances are limited. Mbemba on the other hand should be nailed on after scoring in Marseille's 2-0 win.

Hamari Traore - RWB - 80 > 87 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  1-0 win against PSG  /  7 L’equipe Rating

Completing the trio of Ligue 1 defenders we have Traore. Rennes shocked league leaders PSG with a 1-0 win, thanks to a Traore strike. It’s a result that sees the top gap closed to just three points while Rennes maintain their European position.

Marcus Rashford - LM - 81 > 85 OVR

One goal  /  2-1 win against Manchester City  /  8 Sky Rating

It wasn’t long ago that Ten Haag was being questioned but after offloading an unhappy Ronaldo and having time to settle down Manchester United have looked the best they have for a long time and a big part of that is the form of Rashford. The win against City was their fifth consecutive win in the division and now sit just one point behind their rivals as a result.

Jonathan David - CAM - 79 > 85 OVR

Two goals  /  5-1 win against Troyes  /  8 L’equipe Rating

Both David and Bayo found themselves on the scoresheet twice as Lille recorded a routine win on Sunday and either could find themselves featuring in this side. With David playing a deeper role and being a more desirable card I feel as though he will be the man EA select though.

James Ward-Prowse - CM - 81 > 85 OVR

Two goals  /  2-1 win against Everton  /  8 Sky Rating

Southampton found themselves falling behind to Everton before some JWP-inspired magic saw them turn things around to take all three points, with the second being one of his trademark freekicks.

Ademola Lookman - RW - 77 > 87 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  8-2 win against Salernitana  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

There were plenty of high-scoring matches this weekend but none more so than Atalanta’s 8-2 home win. Hojlund actually claimed MOTM but as a silver striker with one goal, I can’t justify that and instead go to Lookman who was involved in three of those eight goals.

Paulo Dybala - ST - 86 > 88 OVR

Two goals  /  2-0 win against Fiorentina  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

It’s been a while since we have seen an OTW upgrade but after Dybala bagged two for Roma this weekend that is set to change. The Argentine continues to show Juventus what they are missing with another superb performance for Roma.

Victor Osimhen - ST - 83 > 87 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  5-1 win against Juventus  /  8.5 Gazzetta Rating

If there was any doubt about the quality of this Napoli side that was put to bed this weekend after a sublime team performance saw them wipe the floor with Juventus and in turn go ten points clear at the top of Serie A. Osimhen claimed the plaudits with his three-goal contributions seeing Gazzetta award him a huge 8.5

Wissam Ben Yedder - ST - 84 > 88 OVR

Hat trick  /  7-1 win against Ajaccio  /  8 L’equipe Rating

There is a risk associated with this selection due to the fact Ben Yedder recently featured in the centurion promotion. Seeing as he is out of packs and the fact he scored a hat trick this weekend I think I can overlook that but WBY is not guaranteed despite scoring three.

Substitutes

Fernando Martinez - GK - 75 > 83 OVR

Five saves  /  1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid  /  3 Stars Marca

Two things I struggled with this week were goalkeepers and La Liga options. So if I’m going to take a punt it makes sense to hit both criteria. Almeria frustrated Atletico on Sunday managing to take a point via a 1-1 draw. Martinez produced several saves in order to keep the clean sheet and although he failed to keep a clean sheet he is the only option I could find.

Sead Kolasinac - LWB - 75 > 83 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  3-1 win against Lorient  /  8 L’equipe Rating

You guessed it, another Ligue 1 defender. Although this would mean two get-in from Marseille with both Mbemba and Kolasinac featuring from different matches it is a possibility. With two goal contributions to his name, Kolasinac has a higher chance for me.

Nicolas Pepe - RM - 79 > 85 OVR

Two goals  /  6-1 win against  Montpellier  /  8 L’equipe Rating

Nice produced a superb display against Montpellier this week ending that match with a superb 6-1 win. There are a couple of options for the IF with both Thuram and Pepe claiming an 8 from L’equipe. With two goals and the better potential card I am leaning towards Pepe

Galeno - LM - 77 > 83 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  4-1 win against Famalicao  /  8 Abola Rating

It looked as though Benfica were going to be unstoppable this season but having dropped points in two of their last three matches it has left the door open for Porto to close the gap. A 4-1 win means they sit only five points off the top with a Galeno masterclass ensuring that was the case.

Gianluca Caprari - CF - 78 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  3-2 win against Cremonese  /  7 Gazzetta Rating

Monza have been snubbed time and time again when it comes to receiving IF’s and that is down to the majority of their players being silver. Another win this weekend saw them climb to twelfth and a gold option emerging in Caprari.

Joselu - ST - 80 > 86 OVR

Goal and assist  /  2-1 win against Getafe  /  8.2 Whoscored Rating

Despite several big hitters not playing in La Liga this weekend there were several matches played in the division. There were very few IF options though and thus Joselu’s goal and assist is among the best performances. I would often snub this performance but to see La Liga influence I have opted to include him

Brennan Johnson - ST - 75 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  2-0 win against Leicester  /  8 Sky Rating

Leicester had picked up some form before the World Cup break but a 2-0 loss to Nottingham Forest made it four consecutive losses for them. Forest on the other hand are enjoying a good run of form with a 3-0 loss to United being their only defeat in six. A Johnson brace was enough for three points on Saturday.

Reserves

Oliver Kemen (CM) - Two goals, one assist - Kayserispor 4 - Sivasspor 1
