With no less than 10 players predicted at 87 rated or higher TOTW 16 looks to obtain strong chances for a usable red pick.
You only need to glance at the attacking options to see how good this side could be with Ronaldo, Ben Yedder and Vlahovic leading the front line.
Anthony Lopes - GK - 82 > 86 OVR
Three saves / Lyon 2 - Lens 1 / 7 L’equipe Rating
I seriously struggled to include two goalkeepers this week, hence the goalkeeper's inclusion with only three saves. L’equipe has been reliable when it comes to keepers in the past though and with Lopes being named keeper of the week in France it made sense. Especially seeing as Cherki was ruled out due to his future stars item.
Jeremie Frimpong - RWB - 80 > 86 OVR
Two assists / Hoffenheim 1 - Leverkusen 3 / 1.5 Match Rating
Guerriero was snubbed with three assists from LB last week but that has not put me off including Frimpong this time around. The Dutchman was his usual dangerous self down the right-hand flank supplying several chances throughout. He went on to be named MOTM with Leverkusen winning 3-1.
Timo Hubers - CB - 76 > 86 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Koln 3 - Frankfurt 0 / 2 Kicker Rating
The in-form Shkiri is the obvious shout from this game having scored twice and receiving a perfect 1 from Kicker, however, with just a three-week gap from his previous IF I feel that it will instead of to Hubers. Although receiving a 2 instead of a 1 taking away the Shkiri factor means he is very likely.
Luke Shaw - CB - 80 > 87 OVR
Assist and clean sheet / Man United 2 - Leeds 0 / 8 Sky Rating
All the talk around United’s recent run is to do with Rashford and while he deserves that praise Shaw has also been magnificent. Both players were once again involved this week with Shaw supplying the assist for Rashford late on to open the scoring. We are once again seeing the best of Luke Shaw.
Harvey Barnes - LM - 80 > 87 OVR
Goal / Leicester 4 - Tottenham 1 / 9 Sky Rating
With a lot of low scoring draws in the Premier League this weekend although there was no obvious candidate from Leicester they simply must receive an IF for their hammering of Tottenham. With Barnes being named MOTM for his display down the left which included a goal he is the player which makes the most sense.
Rodri - CDM - 87 > 89 OVR
One goal / Man City 3 - Aston Villa 1 / 9 Sky Rating
With Mahrez featuring only three weeks ago his goal and assist won't see him included in TOTW 16. That worked in my favour for once as Rodri ended up being named MOTM. The Spaniard opened the scoring early on and played well throughout.
Teji Savanier - CM - 81 > 87 OVR
One goal / Montpellier 3 - Brest 0 / 8 L’equipe Rating
There were several midfielders with low attacking contributions but high match ratings this week, Savanier was another of those. The Frenchman often picks up several special cards throughout FIFA but this will only be his second this year.
Canales - RM - 84 > 87 OVR
One goal, one assist / Almeria 2 - Real Betis 3 / 8.3 Whoscored Rating
There were several options from Real Betis after they played out a five-goal thriller with Almeria. With Canales being a gold option it gives him the slight edge over Rodri in my eyes though with both managing the same thing
Wissam Ben Yedder - ST - 84 > 88 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Monaco 3 - PSG 1 / 9 L’equipe Rating
Starting a powerful front three this week we have Ben Yedder. Monaco made a statement to PSG this weekend, allowing them back into the title race with a 3-1 win over the league leaders. WBY was involved in all three of those goals making him a very easy selection.
Dusan Vlahovic - ST - 84 > 88 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Salernitana 0 - Juventus 3 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
Although this game comes from way back in Tuesday I still feel that Vlahovic’s impact in said game is worth mentioning. The Serbian was involved in all three of their goals as they secured a routine victory.
Cristiano Ronaldo - ST - 90 > 91 OVR
Four goals / Al-Wedha 0 - Al-Nassr 4 / 9.7 Sofascore Rating
Ronaldo proves he still can change games despite the rumoured dressing room trouble yet again. The Portuguese striker scored all four Al-Nassr goals on Thursday after a slow start at the club before their latest match.
Substitutes
Juan Musso - GK - 81 > 85 OVR
Five saves and clean sheet / Lazio 0 - Atalanta 0 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
After several weeks of keepers being relatively easy to predict we are back to the usual. Musso is a strong shout though after making several key saves to ensure Atalanta secured three points against Lazio.
Emerson - LWB - 77 > 83 OVR
One goal / West Ham 1 - Chelsea 1 / 8 Sky Rating
With the majority of Premier League games finishing 1-1 it was difficult to include the usual number we expect from the division. Emerson is another I have forced in after he scored West Ham’s goal in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
Vicenzo Grifo - LM - 81 > 87 OVR
Brace / Freiburg 2 - Stuttgart 1 / 2 Kicker Rating
Although both Grifo goals came from the penalty spot the Italian was still named MOTM with a decent match rating. As a result, he becomes a strong candidate for this week's side and his SIF.
Jae Sung Lee - CM - 76 > 83 OVR
Brace / Mainz 3 - Augsburg 1 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
Onto another Bundesliga midfielder now in Jae Sung Lee. The Korean was pivotal during their 3-1 win, scoring both their first and last goals of the game.
Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba - ST - 76 > 83 OVR
Brace and assist / Al Ain 3 Al Jazira 2 / MOTM
Fo-Doh Laba is often overlooked despite scoring regularly due to the division he plays in. He usually picks up an IF or two during some point of the season though and I expect that first to be now having contributed to three goals.
Daniele Verde - ST - 75 > 83 OVR
Brace / Empoli 2 - Spezia 2 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
Serie A was another division which offered very few IF options. Verde is among the best though having scored both Spezia goals to ensure they came away with a point.
Jonathan David - ST - 79 > 87 OVR
Brace / Lille 2 - Strasbourg 0 / 8 L’equipe Rating
A four-week gap between IF’s can be pushing it towards the beginning of FIFA but now that we are getting towards the end game EA usually ends up being more lenient. David scored both Lille goals this weekend as he looks to pick up his TIF.
