TOTW 19 Predictions FIFA 23

With high-scoring encounters all over Europe this weekend, many being from popular clubs, TOTW 19 offers several familiar faces. With Griezmann damaging Sevilla, Salah embarrassing Man United and Diaby outpacing Hertha.

Frederik Ronnow - GK - 75 > 83 OVR

Four saves and clean sheet  /  Union Berlin 0 - Koln 0  /  2 Kicker Rating

There were a few Bundesliga keepers in contention for a spot this week but it makes sense to go with Kicker's selection. Ronnow made four saves in total to deny Koln from snatching the win, allowing Union Berlin to pick up one point.

Gianluca Mancini - CB - 81 > 85 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  Roma 1 - Juventus 0  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

A major blow was handed to Juventus as they look to defy the odds and qualify for Europe despite their point deduction. Roma stood strong to secure a 1-0 win thanks to a Mancini goal,  which sees them enter the top four.

Wesley Fofana - CB - 79 > 83 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  Chelsea 1 - Leeds 0  /  8 Sky Rating

With the pressure continuing to build on Potter it was pivotal that they got a result at home to Leeds. Thankfully for him, that's exactly what happened. Fofana scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea battled their way to a 1-0 win.

Dodo - RB - 75 > 83 OVR

One assist  /  Fiorentina 2 - AC Milan 1  /  7 Gazzetta Rating

Fiorentina upset AC Milan with a well-fought 2-1 win over them this weekend. Dodo was named MOTM after providing an assist and consistently breaking up plays down the right-hand side. Although there was no clean sheet considering the match I can see him sneaking in.

Danilo Pereira - CB - 80 > 84 OVR

Goal  /  PSG 4 - Nantes 2  /  7 L’equipe Rating

Although both Messi and Nuno Mendes received a higher rating (8) than Pereira (7) both of them are unlikely to get in due to their proximity on the latest special card. What is often the case when this happens is the next best option gets in instead, hence the Pereira inclusion here.

Thomas Partey - CM - 84 > 87 OVR

Goal  /  Arsenal 3 - Bournemouth 2  /  9 Sky Rating

At 2-0 down it looked set to be a rough day at the office for Arsenal but their fight and determination managed to get them through the game. Partey scored the first of three goals to turn the match around with Neilson’s winner coming in the 97th minute. This could be the game we look back at come the end of the season as the decider.

Matias Vecino - CM - 77 > 87 OVR

One goal  /  Napoli 0 - Lazio 1  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

Lazio inflicted Napoli with their second defeat of the season on Friday and although the gap is still 17 points at the top it is an important result for Lazio and their season. Vecino scored the only goal of the game and was awarded MOTM for doing so.

Mohamed Salah - RW- 90 > 93 OVR

Two goals, two assists  /  Liverpool 7 - Man United 0  /  10 Sky Rating

There were some high-scoring results this weekend but none were more impressive than Liverpool’s seven without reply against Manchester United. When comparing these two sides form you would have expected this to be a difficult fixture for Liverpool but they were at their very best on Sunday. There are several shouts for the IF but Salah was nothing short of phenomenal.

Brennan Johnson - CF - 75 > 86 OVR

Two goals  /  Nottingham Forest 2 - Everton 2  /  9 Sky Rating

Although Johnson's double was not enough for Forest to pick up all three points I still feel as though he has done enough for inclusion in this week's side. The Welsh forward played just behind the striker and did all the damage when Forest was on the attack.

Moussa Diaby - ST - 84 > 88 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Leverkusen 4 - Hertha 1  /  1 Kicker Rating

Diaby’s pace caused continuous problems for Hertha Berlin this weekend with the Frenchman named Bundesliga player of the week as a result of his performance. Providing directly a goal and an assist but the majority of the danger came through Diaby.

Antoine Griezmann - CF - 83 > 88 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Atletico 6 - Sevilla 1  /  10 Whoscored Rating

With such a convincing scoreline Atletico will inevitably feature in this side. Usually, the player would be an easy selection but with several options performing well, it is anything but that. We are helped by the recent Depay FantasyFut card resulting in Griezmann being the likely selection after his goal and assist.

Substitutes

Marco Bizot - GK - 76 > 83 OVR

Four saves and clean sheet  /  Strasbourg 0 - Brest 1  /  8 L’equipe Rating

Bizot made several key saves this weekend against Strasbourg to ensure that Brest came away with all three points. L’equipe rated his performance an 8/10 making him only one of four to receive an 8 or above this week.

Yaroslav Rakitskyi - CB - 79 > 83 OVR

Goal, assist and clean sheet  /  Metalist 0 - Shakhtar 7

Yet another high-scoring match now, over in Ukraine with Shakthar. There were lots of different goalscorers but an option which stands out for me is Rakitskyi. With the Ukrainian defender being a gold defender with two attacking returns he stands out compared to other options.

Gonzalo Plata - RW - 77 > 83 OVR

Two assists  /  Valladolid 2 - Espanyol 1  /  8.4 Whoscored Rating

When it came to midfielders there were plenty of options to choose from however many were fringe options making it difficult to separate them. Plata is one of those options after he provided both assists during Valladolid’s 2-1 win.

Samuel Chukwueze - RW - 79 > 83 OVR

Two assists  /  Almeria 0 - Villarreal 2  /  8.1 Whoscored Rating

Villarreal took another step closer to confirming their European qualification for next season with a comfortable 2-0 win away at Almeria. Chukwueze provided the assist on both their goals thus making him a strong candidate for this side.

Yannick Gerhardt - ST - 76 > 83 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Wolfsburg 2 - Frankfurt 2  /  2 Kicker Rating

Frankfurt can perhaps feel hard done by with a goal ruled out and the woodwork being struck but the fact that it ended in a draw makes it easier to include Gerhardt. The German was involved in both Wolfsburg goals and went on to be named MOTM.

Enes Unal - ST - 78 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  Getafe 3 - Girona 2  /  8 Whoscored Rating

An enthralling encounter between Getafe and Girona ended up with Getafe edging the match 3-2. That was partly thanks to a Unal brace with both Unal and Mayoral standing out. The fact Unal is a gold rather than silver gives him the advantage.

Jorge Molina - ST - 78 > 83 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Burgos 1 - Granada 3  /  9.2 Sofascore Rating

Despite being 40 years of age Molina is still regularly on the scoresheet for Granada. His double this weekend takes him into double figures for the season. Just how long he will continue to play  is unknown but while he is scoring freely why should he stop?

Reserves

William Yarbrough (GK)  - Eleven saves and clean sheet - Colorado 0 - Kansas 0

Monnapule Saleng (LM) - Hat trick - Swallows 1 - Orlando Pirates 4
