EA Sports FC 24: Release Date, Price, Consoles, Versions & More

With EA Sports FC still a few months away we don't have any information regarding an official release date but we can speculate and predict when we can get our hands on the game.

Our best estimate is any time between late September and early October if previous releases are anything to go by.

What Is EA Sports FC?

After 38 editions of the FIFA game series, EA Sports are set to drop the “FIFA’ title as they head into an exciting new era.

So, instead of seeing FIFA 24 line the shelves next season, it will be the first instalment of EA Sports FC.

The new brand identity is inspired by the triangles that have been part of EA Sports football for the last 30 years, from the isometric polygons that make up our game to the chemistry triangles that exist in Ultimate Team™ to the player indicator across every match.

When Will EA Sports FC Be Released?

EA Sports FC will be released around Friday, September 29th, at least that’s what the FUT Community rumour mill is saying!

Many rumours were circulating about a potential August release date (@FutZoneFIFA) but that tweet has since been deleted and looked like it was just speculation.

Popular leaker @FUTSheriff has suggested that the 29th of September is the date we’re all after, however, he doesn't say whether or not this is the date of the Ultimate Edition or Standard and claims we’re getting a different kind of early access this year!

Will There Be Different Versions Of EA Sports FC?

As with the last FIFA instalments, we’re expecting to see two editions of EA Sports FC with a similar price structure at £60 and £90 for a Standard and Ultimate Edition for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

EA Sports Legacy Edition is something we’re also expecting to see for Nintendo Switch which as of 23, is still the FIFA 19 game engine but with FIFA 23 graphics.

Hopefully, with the new name, we also get a new game for the Switch but as it’s been 4 years without, we think we’re going to have to settle on a rewrapped FIFA 19 once again.

Will EA Sports FC 24 Be Free To Play?

For now, this is just speculation but the potential signs are there. FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online 4 have been incredibly successful and are both free to play.

EA Vice President David Jackson mentioned in an interview with Kicker that football is "a seasonal game" and also states that only "so far" FIFA has been reset annually.

We could be reading into this a little too much but without a year attached to the title, seeing EA Sports FC as one continuous game cycle could be a real possibility.

Nevertheless, nothing is confirmed as of yet, and we await official confirmation from EA as to whether EA Sports FC 24 will be going free to play later this year.

How Much Will EA Sports FC Cost?

We would like to suggest that the price structure of EA Sports FC will be the same as FIFA games but we’ve recently seen an increase in FIFA Points which is leading us to believe otherwise.

As we come towards the end of FIFA 23 EA Sports pushed FIFA Point prices up 10% in response to the global market which means the same might happen with EA Sports FC. Previous games were released at £59.99 (Standard) and £89.99 (Ultimate) but we unfortunately think these may go up to £69.99 and £99.99.

When Have Previous FIFA’s Been Released?

As mentioned earlier we’re expecting the release date to be around the last few days in September based on previous release dates.

The earliest release date we’ve seen since FIFA 14 was September 24th, for the FIFA 16 edition of the franchise.

October 9th has been the latest we’ve had to wait but don’t expect that again this year. FIFA 21 was pushed back due to the previous football season being delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

These dates were the earliest users could play via early access and the Ultimate Edition so be prepared to pay extra if you want to play three days earlier.

Will EA Sports FC Ultimate Team Have Pre-Order Bonuses?

As with every FIFA, if you pre-order the game you are rewarded with bonus content upon release, and last year by ordering before a certain date you were given more bonus content.

Players who ordered the Ultimate Edition before August 21st were rewarded with a World Cup Hero pack, and those who ordered the Standard were rewarded with a Base Hero Pack.

Users can also get 10% off the new game by ordering through the past 3 editions.

These are just predictions due to the rebrand but we are expecting something very similar if not the same again this year.

How To Get An EA Sports FC 24 Beta Code

We haven’t had a demo for a FIFA game since FIFA 20 with EA now preferring to hand out Beta codes to those lucky select few.

The Beta is usually released around mid-August and is shut down throughout September.

There isn’t a way to guarantee yourself a Beta code but by following these steps you’ll have the best opportunity!

  • Head over to the EA website
  • Log into your EA Account
  • Select your Email Preferences
  • Tick the box to opt-in for emails from EA about news and services
  • Check your emails/spam folder to see if you have a code

The Position Modifier Theory

One SBC that has been a constant in FIFA 23 since its launch is the Position Modifier Upgrade which refreshes daily.

However, there is an expiry date of the 30th September 2023, could this all but confirm the release date for EA Sports FC?

For now, it’s all speculation but keep an eye out as we’ll be updating with any confirmed information we get.
