It almost feels like a quiet day for content. Nothing wild in the form of Objectives bar a pretty decent one that grants an eight Premier League players pack and an eight Serie A players pack for just playing one game and scoring one goal in any game mode!
However, for SBCs, we have been given yet another End of an Era SBC in the form of Sergio Busquets! It feels like a bit of a miss from EA here to not pair up an EOE Jordi Alba but we move. I won’t seem ungrateful because, from first impressions, this Busquets card looks incredible.
Very decisive split from the community here. This SBC has been very well received! I come back to my point from the Firmino review however, Prem Tax is clear here because this SBC is very well-priced in comparison to the former’s SBC. At around a 230k price tag, this SBC seems to be a must-complete!
You can check out the card here!
Here are the following SBC Requirements you’ll need to complete:
#1 - Tactical Emulation
# of players from FC Barcelona - Min. 1
Squad Rating - 86
Pack Return - Prime Mixed Players Pack
#2 - LaLiga
# of players from La Liga Santander - Min. 1
Squad Rating - 88
Pack Return - Rare Electrum Players Pack
There is no doubt from me that this SBC is near perfectly priced. This is a great-looking card that could easily slot right into any La Liga squad. With very easy links to it too.
The defensive midfield duo for my squad in this review saw EoE Busquets paired with the tried and trusted TOTS Thuram. Both of course with a very different style of play but an absolute brick wall for the midfield nonetheless. I opted for the Anchor chem style here which seems like the obvious choice as it gives the much-needed Pace boost whilst keeping this card at a Lengthy AcceleRATE type.
How did he perform in-game?
+ Quite an obvious one here but of course Strength was as incredible as you would expect. Throughout the entirety of playing with this card, I am still yet to see someone out-muscle him. He just couldn’t be beaten.
+ Passing was the next thing that really stood out to me. Especially that 99 Long Passing. I can’t tell you how many times he sent the ball upfield creating many a goal-scoring opportunity for my attack.
- Positioning for the card was a little all over the place, I felt he pushed up a lot more than I would like considering outside of defending he couldn’t do much else for me upfield. Worth noting though that the card did do well and make some good interceptions due to how aggressive he is.
- Pace was a clear downfall on this card. For starters, the pace split itself is a big letdown as the slower acceleration was quite apparent. But I felt with his body type on top of that, this is one of those bigger players that just seem to move around like a truck.
Sergio Busquets - Cop or Flop?
This one is a little odd for me. Because, though he just doesn’t particularly fit my playstyle. I generally think the card is really well-priced and is one of the best CDM options out there within La Liga. He almost reminds me of William Carvalho’s special cards from previous years. A great card but not one I feel has the longevity to stay within the squad.
Is this a must complete? I wanna say no. Should you complete it..? Look, this card is an incredible value for coins. For La Liga sides this card holds up to be the best CDM option there is. What will be interesting is to see down the line when the Shapeshifters Kroos card comes and how the two compare. I think if you’re the type of player that enjoys using the likes of TOTS Kimmich, TOTY Icon Xabi Alonso etc, you will get on with this card really well.
Whilst this type of card doesn’t meet my playstyle, I can’t deny it’s still worth a pickup even from the price alone. And if an End of an Era Alba card does come (Which we all highly expect will) then these two would be a fantastic pair to play with.
P.s. Not one Biscuits reference!
Verdict: COP
