EA Sports FC news is right around the corner and in the lead up to the new game we’re taking a look at who we think will be the best players. After looking at goalkeepers last week, it’s time for right backs today. Let us know if there are any changes you’d make!
#15 - Noussair Mazraoui - 82 OVR - Bayern Munich
FIFA 23 Rating - 82
Mazraoui was part of the Morocco team who stunned the World and reached the semi finals of Qatar 2022.
Despite this amazing achievement he struggled for gametime at club level, only starting 11 games for Bayern.
We think the World Cup performances are enough to keep him 82 rated for next season.
#14 - Nahuel Molina - 82 OVR - Atlético Madrid
FIFA 23 Rating - 78
The Argentinian right back not only had a consistently good season with Atleti, but also won the World Cup.
Molina earned himself a very deserving Team of the Season card this year and we think he’ll receive a +4 heading into EA FC 24
#13 - Hamari Traore - 82 OVR - Real Sociedad
FIFA 23 Rating - 80
Hamari Traore ended his Rennes career with a fantastic season, securing them another year of Europa League football.
He contributed with 1 goal and 4 assists and we think he deserves a +2 in EA FC 24 as he joins Real Sociedad in La Liga.
#12 - Danilo - 82 OVR - Juventus
FIFA 23 Rating - 80
We may see Danilo’s set position as a CB but after years of playing right back, it will most certainly be one of his alternate positions.
He had a very solid year at Juventus slotting into their back 3 with ease so we’ve given him an 82 card for next season.
#11 - Denzel Dumfries - 82 OVR - Inter Milan
FIFA 23 Rating - 82
Dumfries was part of the Inter Milan side who surprised Europe and reached the Champions League final.
Just like Mazraoui, he had a very good World Cup but was pretty average for Inter so we’ve decided to keep him at 82.
#10 - Dani Carvajal - 83 OVR - Real Madrid
FIFA 23 Rating - 84
The first right back downgrade comes for Dani Carvajal.
The Spaniard only played 27 matches in La Liga and for once looked totally out of place in the Champions League, struggling to contain Jack Grealish in both semi final legs.
#9 - Jonathan Clauss - 83 OVR - Olympique Marseille
FIFA 23 Rating - 80
Let's go, that's Clauss.
The French wingback earned his third TOTS card in a row in his debut season with Marseille and after another impressive season we’ve given him a huge boost up to 83.
11 goal contributions from RWB as Marseille achieved a third place finish in Ligue 1
#8 - Jeremie Frimpong - 83 OVR - Bayer Leverkusen
FIFA 23 Rating - 80
In 8th place we’ve predicted another RWB jumping from 80 to 83 with Jeremie Frimpong.
The former Manchester City man hit his highest goal scoring season, bagging 8 in the Bundesliga alongside his 7 assists.
Frimpong is well on his way to becoming the best right back in the world but there’s still a couple of years before that happens.
#7 - Juan Cuadrado - 83 OVR - Juventus
FIFA 23 Rating - 83
Juan Cuadrado enters the list and is our second Juventus right back in the top 15.
Juventus had a very crazy season with failures in both the Champions and Europa League on top of multiple point deductions.
Juan’s year was fairly average so have kept him at 83
#6 - Reece James - 83 OVR - Chelsea
FIFA 23 Rating - 84
Our final of 5, 83 rated right backs is Reece James.
Injuries keep getting the better of James and He’s unfortunately been out for most of the year, only racking up 16 league appearances this season.
After only a handful of appearances we had to downgrade him for EA FC 24.
#5 - Giovanni Di Lorenzo - 84 OVR - Napoli
FIFA 23 Rating - 82
Di Lorenzo wrote his name into Naples history after captaning Napoli to their first Scudetto since 1990.
The Italian contributed with 3 goals and 4 assists going forward and also kept 17 clean sheets in the league.
His and Napoli’s Champions League dreams came crashing down against Milan but we can’t help but think they won’t be too bothered.
#4 - Achraf Hakimi - 85 OVR - Paris Saint Germain
FIFA 23 Rating - 84
As with Mazraoui, Hakimi was part of the Morocco team who were ever so close to making the World Cup Final and for that alone, deserves an upgrade.
It was a much tougher season for PSG as they only won the title by one point.
Hakimi had a good season but his +1 has definitely been earned with his World Cup performances.
#3 - Kieran Trippier - 85 OVR - Newcastle United
FIFA 23 Rating - 84
Kieran Trippier has had an insane career over the last few years.
He scored in a World Cup semi final and gave us hope that football might actually come home, then went to Spain for a year and won La Liga and is now back in England, captaining Newcastle United in the Champions League.
One of Newcaslte’s best signings and we’ve predicted a very deserving 85 overall for Tripps next season.
#2 - Kyle Walker - 86 OVR - Manchester City
FIFA 23 Rating - 85
Manchester City switched to a back 3 midway through the season meaning Walker should hopefully have a CB alternate position next year.
He hasn’t played as many games as he wanted to and was benched for the Champions League final, but when he has featured has proved he can still do it to an incredible level.
Pep brought him in to face Vini Jr and he didn’t disappoint, keeping him quiet over both legs.
#1 - Trent Alexander-Arnold - 87 OVR - Liverpool
FIFA 23 Rating - 87
Once again we think Trent will be the highest rated right back on the game.
Liverpool had a very disappointing season but Trent was one of their best. He may have only chipped in with 9 assists which are rookie numbers for him after hitting double figures in 3 of 4 previous seasons, but he still had a good year.
No upgrade but that’s still enough to keep him in at the top.
Who do you think missed out on the top 15? Do you think we’ll get all of these correct?
