There are cards that you put into your squad because the general consensus is that they are a must have and in an affordable price bracket… There are cards that you put into your squad because they fit the mold of your play style and you know they will produce results… And then there are cards that you put into your squad because every time you come up against them they are simply too good, and if you can’t beat em, join em.

The latter reason is 100% why we took a look at our second keeper turned striker this week, after Petr Cech ran rampant on me all weekend long.  Time and time again crosses flew into the box and the big Czech simply dunked on Ramos and Militao more times than I could count.

 

Enough is enough and Cech had to lead the line in my  4-2-2-2 formation through the requalify phase of the Weekend League grind.  The HUNTER chemistry style adds a nice bit of Pace and near perfect Shooting while maintaining the LENGTHY AcceleRATE.

Petr Cech proved to be the perfect pick up, all qualify long in the following squad:

Overall 

It was clear from game one that Cech was up there as one of the better “big men” strikers currently available in the game.  I mentioned the fun times I had with SS Rudiger… and TOTS Haaland always has some fantastic quality when I get a chance to use him. Truthfully, Cech fit right in with that style and quality of player, but more so in the Haaland bracket than Rudiger, hence the rating.  The fact that Cech amassed 20 goals in 7 matches is only the tip of the iceberg and truthfully marked one of my favorite reviews in some time.

Weak Foot: ★★★★

This was always going to be the main category that determined the overall quality of this card… And in a way I already knew the results before trying the big man after being on the wrong end of his quality all weekend long.

At 196cm | 6’5 it is not overly surprising that Cech is so dominant in the air in front of goal… But it is the 94 JUMPING & 99 HEADING ACCURACY that make it so special.  Lots of players can get on the end of crosses, but Cech has something magic about the way that he leaps in the air like a majestic deer before slamming home yet another goal.

The 4 STAR WEAK FOOT with this card is more like a 5 STAR but it was interesting how many FUT Managers didn’t seem to know that Cech was left footed, often letting me turn to his favorite side and limiting the amount of right footed opportunities that I needed to take.  Regardless, the 99 FINISHING & 99 SHOT POWER translated well into either foot and absolutely slammed the ball into the back of the net.  

The OUTSIDE FOOT SHOT is quality  with this card and a nice addition, but I am not sure I have used a card without the FINESSE SHOT that can complete them so cleanly.  More than a couple of goals from outside the box and several inside that you would normally expect to over curl with other cards missing the trait.

Value/Fodder/Coins: 5/5

190k for this card feels like robbery and if Dan were here he would most definitely be holding up a big COP sign for this one.  It is unbelievable the level of cards that you can get for cheap at this stage in the game (just pretend Kante never happened), and not many feel better value than this SBC.  It would be ideal if he offered a bit more in the links department with a more popular nation I guess, but overall there were little complaints.

 

Good vs. Bad

Can I just say that everything was good with this card and just call it a day?  There are seriously so many quality attributes and statistics going for this card.

+ The 99 SPRINT SPEED on such a massive card with the LENGTHY AcceleRATE was always going to be good, we know that.  But I was 100% not expecting this card to jet out of the dribble and have such a strong initial burst.  The 99 ACCELERATION is like rocket boosters taking off and if you are not prepared, Cech will be gone before you can get your backs moving in the right direction.

+ The 5 STAR SKILLS are a nice touch, but the 95 BALANCE, 95 BALL CONTROL, & 95 DRIBBLING have the big man moving smooth on the ball.  The 84 AGILITY did not seem to hurt matters much and in general this card is extremely responsive to left stick movement despite his big frame.

+ 98 STRENGTH on Goliath… need I say more.

+ Yes, even the passing is pin point.  The 96 SHORT PASSING was great for intricate striker play while the 96 VISION & 95 LONG PASSING were perfect when coming deep to receive passes and spraying them out to my RAM/LAM.

 

Closing Words

I couldn’t in good conscience simply make up a negative to discuss above.  The 20 goals is staggering and the 3 assists still shows the ability to link up with others up top.  It is crazy to think that there is still 70 DEFENDING on this card if you wanted to consider other areas of the pitch for the big man to patrol.

The fact that a 190k SBC fits onto the first page of the top In Game Statistics Totals in the game is insane.  I realize he is right at the bottom and at this point cards have been juiced to an insane level… But he is still there.  In the end it is more crazy to realize how many of those ingame statistics are actually performing as advertised in game.  Simply a must try.
