What Are PlayStyles in EA FC 24?

PlayStyles look to be replacing the Traits system we’ve seen in Ultimate Team since FIFA 20. They give players unique capabilities based on real life ability that will make their way of playing more authentic. PlayStyles will be optimised by Opta data to go beyond a players base rating and bring to life the on-pitch abilities that make players special. Here’s a quick rundown on how each of the PlayStyles work and what they are! 

What PlayStyles Are Coming to EA FC 24?

There are 34 PlayStyles coming to the game next year with each individual PlayStyle fitting under one of these categories; Shooting, Passing, Ball Control, Defending, Physical and Goalkeeper. You can view the full list of PlayStyles here.

Are there still traits in EA FC 24?

No. As far as we’re aware the Traits system will not be returning for EA FC 24. We’ve had no indication that will be making a return and can be almost certain that PlayStyles will be replacing them. 

Are PlayStyles Replacing Traits?

Yes. We can assume that traits will be getting replaced by PlayStyles as there have been no mention of traits so far and there are plenty of existing traits that have been converted to a PlayStyle. Finesse Shot, Power Header, Long Throw and Flair are all examples of Traits in FIFA 23 that are now PlayStyles in EA FC 24.
