FC 24 Team of The Season Leroy Sane Player Review - Cop or Flop

Bundesliga Team of the Season is here. How did your prem tots go? Did you pack all the blues you hoped for? How many Alissons and Russos did you manage to get? Because plenty of them have been sent to the exchange this past week. But onto a new league now which of course presents a bunch of new players to get our hands on!

Leroooooooooooy Sane is the SBC player for today and I am quite excited to get my hands on this card. Coming in at 6 segments to complete too so isn’t going to be a cheap one but considering the calibre of this card, I would expect a larger price.

This Sane card has received a nice upgrade from his Dynasties item, getting himself a whopping +6 overall boost and of course the main thing we look for in cards now, 3 playstyle pluses. On top of the Trickster+ that the Dynasties card has, this TOTS item now also has Rapid and Powershot+. Both of which I think we can all agree are far more appealing than the former.

Outside of Playstyles he has also been given a weak foot boost up to 4* as well as a skill move boost up to 5* skills. A lot of +7s and 8s for this item too so he is shaping up to be a pretty impressive item.

Sane joins last week's SBC in TOTS Alvarez in the attack alongside an Evo in Progress Martinelli. I knew these players would be pinging around defenders making quick passes and firing off shots on goal, creating a real challenge for the opposition’s defence to keep up. 

Chemstyle of choice here is the Hawk for me. Originally I was swaying towards the Engine but I feel that alongside maxing that pace and shooting, his physical stats needed that boost also. So I would highly recommend the Hawk on this card.

As mentioned earlier, 6 segments to get through here but the price tag only comes in at around 450k which considering what this card would likely cost on the market. Is not bad whatsoever. I do feel like that 83 rated squad was thrown in to bulk up the SBC but no complaints here, that could have very easily been a 90 rated segment instead.

How did he perform in-game?

+ Sane is absolutely rapid and that’s massively due to that rapid playstyle he possesses. He can bolt down the wing in a flash.

+ Passing was really impressive, especially the crossing. Having the whipped pass playstyle helps a lot because he was whipping in corners with ease and always finding his man.

+ His positioning was good too, always in an open spot to receive an over the top ball which gave him freedom to send it down the wing.

+ Shooting was relatively decent too. He could finish the ball but those power shots will be favourable if he is through on goal.

/ Dribbling was okay on this item but I feel like having a Technical+ would have finished this stat off nicely

- Strength, despite having 82, was a little disappointing as often I found Sane losing possession of the ball.

Sane - Cop or Flop?

This is a really nice item but it comes with its faults. As mentioned he loses possession a lot which let the card down a little bit for me. But for the price I think this is a fun item to pick up if he fits into your side. The problem for me is he doesn’t quite fit in with my squad but if you can get him into your squad without making too much of an impact on the rest of your team. I would recommend copping this item!
