FC 24 Team of The Season Jules Kounde Player Review - Cop or Flop

Both the La Liga & Liga F Team of the Season's have arrived today and I have to say given how the weekend league was last week I wasn't too excited to start this weekend's journey, It can't be worse than last week...right? Anyway today we were actually given two player SBC's but we're going to take a look at the defender today, a 94-rated Kounde. Jules has had some really good items this year so I was looking forward to seeing how this item in particular got on.

It's been an odd promo so far, I feel like we've lacked some good SBC's...am I expecting too much? Maybe. I placed Kounde in the RCB role in what is ultimately a test team that was just quickly thrown together.

I ended up putting the Anchor chem style on him which gives him a really nice physical boost, especially in the strength department. The playstyles given to him are rather interesting as he has every single defensive one except... anticipate which is one of the better ones this year, It's also a shame he didn't get given Aerial as with him being 5 '11 it could have been helpful.

6 Segments in total, bringing the cost to around 550,000 coins which when looking at other high-rated TOTS CB options does not seem that bad at all, especially given the league and nation combination.

How did he perform in-game?

+ Passing, we have to start with this because wow. His long balls from the back line were brilliant, really impressed with the distribution level for a defender.

+ Tackling, Kounde was just one of those players who once he got a sniff of the ball seemed to end up with it and then he'd have the ability to turn, shield, and release the ball for a teammate.

+ Positioning, despite the high-high work rates he naturally was in the right place at the right time for me.

+ Block+, this playstyle came incredibly handy around the box for obvious reasons.

- Aerial ability. Look if this item was released a few months ago this wouldn't of been an issue, but at this stage he just isn't going to be able to compete against all the high level forwards and other center-backs when trying to win headers.

Kounde - Cop or Flop?

I think it's a solid centre-back option and as mentioned earlier when looking at the other TOTS CB's I think his price is fair, not insane value but not bad value either, That being said I'd only recommend using him if he has someone who will dominate aerially next to him.

Ultimately It's not a must complete but if he fits your team he's worth a go.
