With the first weekend league just around the corner, we take a look at the next batch of IF’s potentially heading your way. The side doesn't disappoint, especially in the midfield department with the likes of Bellingham, Leao and Odegaard all making the prediction.
Mory Diaw - GK - 74 > 80 OVR
Ten saves and clean sheet / Clermont 0 - PSG 0 / 9 L’equipe Rating
For the second time in three weeks, a silver Ligue 1 keeper should be making TOTW. Diaw was simply phenomenal against League favourites PSG this weekend, making save after save to ensure the Clemont clean sheet was kept intact and received a 9/10 for doing so.
Grimaldo - LB - 84 > 86 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Mainz 0 -Leverkusen 3 / 1.5 Kicker Rating
Grimaldo was always an attacking threat while playing in Portugal but now in the Bundesliga, it’s a different challenge for him. So far the Spaniard has lived up to expectations and slotted into the side well. It was one of his best performances in a Leverkusen shirt this weekend as he scored one of Leverkusen’s three and was awarded MOTM with a 1.5
Kalidou Koulibaly - CB - 84 > 85 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Al-Hilal 2 - Al-Shabab 0 / MOTM
The Saudi league IF’s just keep coming, high profile ones too. Koulibaly adds a well-needed defensive side to the division and after scoring once and keeping a clean sheet he is among the best defensive options this week.
Joachin Andersen - CB - 78 > 82 OVR
Goal and clean sheet / Man United 0 - Palace 1 / 8 Sky Rating
Andersen continues to impress for Palace this season adding another goal to his name this weekend against Man United to add another MOTM performance to his name. Although United are far from their best currently a 1-0 win away from home is still a massive result for Palace.
Rafael Leao - LW - 86 > 87 OVR
Two assists / Milan 2 - Lazio 0 / 7.5 Gazzetta Rating
EA have shown a clear preference for big names this year already and now with the game officially out I see no reason for that to slow down. Leao is a player that will bring a lot of hype and with the Portuguese winger assisting both Milan goals this weekend I fully expect to see him in TOTW 3.
Martin Odegaard - CM - 87 > 88 OVR
Goal and assist / Bournemouth 0 - Arsenal 4 / 9 Sky Rating
With Manchester City dropping points Arsenal closed the gap to one with a convincing win away at Bournemouth. Odegaard pulled the strings in the middle of the park, contributing to two goals directly and causing issue after issue throughout for Bournemouth.
Jude Bellingham - CM - 86 > 87 OVR
Goal and assist / Girona 0 - Madrid 3 / 9 Sofascore Rating
Granted there is a chance that EA will ignore Bellingham due to an inevitable POTM card incoming soon. After another dominant display in the middle which takes him to six goals and two assists for the season, the Englishman is going to be picking up a collection book of specials this season anyway.
Cristian Tello - LM - 76 > 81 OVR
Hat trick / Al-Fateh 5 - Al-Wedha 1 / 9.3 Sofascore Rating
The level 30 pass decision just became easier for you with Tello now likely to pick up an IF this week. The Spaniard scored three times from the left side of midfield as Al-Fateh cruised to a 5-1 win at home to Al-Wedha.
Racheal Kundananji - ST - 83 > 85 OVR
Hat trick / Sevilla (W) 1 - Madrid (W) 5 / 9.8 Sofascore Rating
There is some hype around Kundananji’s base card and with a potential IF on the way she could become a dangerous option early game and with foundation options in the division already links are available.
Lautaro Martinez - ST - 87 > 88 OVR
Four goals / Salernitana 0 - Inter 4 / 9 Gazzetta Rating
It was the polar opposite of last week for Serie A this time around with option after option presenting itself. There are a couple of obvious inclusions with Martinez being one of them. The Argentine scored all four Inter goals and received a substantial 9-match rating.
Ollie Watkins - ST - 80 > 85 OVR
Three goals, one assist / Aston Villa 6 - Brighton 1 / 9 Sky Rating
Brighton have started the season superbly but became unstuck this weekend against an impressive Villa side. Watkins scored three and assisted another as Villa recorded a 6-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.
Substitutes
Kristoffer Haugsen - LWB - 70 > 80 OVR
One goal, two assists and clean sheet / Molde 4 - Viking 0 / 9 Sofascore Rating
I was in complete awe to see Pellegrino’s four goals ignored last week and should Haugsen also be ignored this week I would go as far as to say no more IF’s from this division are likely. With three goal contributions and a clean sheet as a defender, what more can you ask for?
Riccardo Orsolini - RM - 78 > 82 OVR
Hat trick / Bologna 3 - Empoli 0 / 8.5 Gazzetta Rating
Gazzetta are known for their harsh rating of players so to see an 8.5 shows just how impressive Orsolini was this weekend. The Italian scored all three of Bologna’s goals as he singlehandedly stole the show.
Maghnes Akliouche - CAM - 68 > 80 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Monaco 3 - Marseille 2 / 9 L’equipe Rating
Due to the new format of TOTW, we are seeing numerous clear cut IF’s in previous FIFA’s missing out which is frustrating and will take some adjusting. Akliouche probably falls on the opposite side of things though and now stands more chance, being a silver in a top 5 league. A huge 9 L’equipe Rating should help push his IF after three-goal contributions.
Yusuf Sari - RM - 71 > 80 OVR
Three assists / Demispor 4 - Alanyaspor 0 / 8.8 Sofascore Rating
The Turkish league has received a lot of love during the first two weeks of EAFC with promotions containing their players consistently. I am opting to continue the trend here with Sari who provided three assists during Demispor’s 4-0 home win.
Suarez - ST - 75 > 81 OVR
Hat trick / Almeria 3 - Granada 3 / 10 Sofascore Rating
With the number of hat tricks that occurred this week it becomes challenging to fit everyone in. Suarez is another who managed the feat with his three coming in Almeria’s 3-3 draw with Getafe.
Nikola Karczewska - ST - 78 > 82 OVR
Hat trick / Leverkusen (W) 6 - Nuremberg (W) 0 / 9.8 Sofascore Rating
Although we have only seen one female included in both TOTW1 and 2 I don’t feel that we are limited to it yet. This will be another test with a couple of hat tricks. Karczewska scored three for Leverkusen as they demolished Nurnberg 6-0
Alassane Plea - ST - 77 > 81 OVR
Two goals, one assist / Bochum 1 - Gladbach 3 / 1 Kicker Rating
Bochum are having a rough time in the Bundesliga this season emphasised by Gladbach recording their first win of the season against them on Saturday. Plea was pivotal, scoring twice and assisting the other.
