FC 24 TOTW 8 Predictions

ByAaron

TOTW 8 looks set to be packed with top-tier players from defence to attack. With a back three of Grimaldo, Upamecano and Hakimi being one of the best we will see all year. While Diani offers a strong link to centurion Geyoro.

Ter Stegen - GK - 89 > 90 OVR

Six saves and clean sheet  /  Real Sociedad 0 - Barcelona 1  /  8.5 Whoscored Rating

This IF could go one of two ways, both of which result in a brilliant IF. Araujo scored the only goal of the game from CB. However, it's ter Stegen who I feel ends up getting the nod after making several top-class saves to keep Barcelona in the match. The German is the best goalkeeper choice of the week easily.

Grimaldo - LWB - 84 > 87 OVR

Two goals  /  Hoffenheim 2 - Leverkusen 3  /  1 Kicker Rating

Grimaldo is quickly becoming a fan favourite this season in EAFC with the Spaniard already being a popular choice. Another IF looks to be on the way for the Leverkusen man after he scored twice in a hard-fought 3-2 win.

Dayot Upamecano - CB - 82 > 84 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  Dortmund 0 - Bayern 4  /  1,5 Kicker Rating

The decision to ignore Kane for proximity to the previous IF last week was the wrong one. The Englishman scored yet another hat trick this week and won’t feature again. Instead, we have Upamecano who scored the opening goal and what an IF he will be.

Achraf Hakimi - RB - 84 > 85 OVR

Two assists and clean sheet  /  PSG 3 - Montpellier 0  /  8 L’equipe Rating

Hakimi has already been snubbed twice by EA this season for reasons unknown. The Moroccan once again stands a strong chance of inclusion however after the defender provided two assists alongside PSG’s clean sheet on Friday.

Jeremy Doku - LM - 77 > 84 OVR

One goal, four assists  /  Man City 6 - Bournemouth 1  /  10 Sky Rating

The easiest decision of the week comes with Doku’s phenomenal performance against Bournemouth, with the Belgian providing four assists to go alongside his early goal. Sky rarely awards a perfect 10 so when one is given out you know the performance is top-tier.

Hakan Calhanoglu - CM - 85 > 86 OVR

One goal  /  Atalanta 1 - Inter 2  /  7.5 Gazzetta Rating

I could have easily ignored Serie A this week but they will inevitably receive a couple of players. For that reason, I have taken the punt on Calhanoglu. The Turkish midfielder only scored a penalty on paper but after receiving MOTM in a big fixture alongside that there is a chance for him to sneak in.

Alexandr Golovin - CAM - 79 > 82 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Monaco 2 - Brest 0  /  8 L’equipe Rating

With only a few Ligue 1 candidates this week the ones that stood out should easily make the side. Golovin is one with the Russian providing both a goal and an assist to help Monaco dispatch Brest.

Wilfried Zaha - LM - 81 > 84 OVR

Two goals  /  Galatasaray 2 - Kasimpasa 1  /  8.8 Whoscored Rating

With the Turkish division getting a lot of promotional spotlight from EA this season alongside the fact that Zaha is a popular player I can’t see them missing out on the opportunity to award the Ivorian his first IF here. Scoring both goals during a 2-1 win the midfielder was named MOTM.

Oihan Sancet - CAM - 81 > 84 OVR

Two assists  /  Villarreal 2 - Bilbao 3  /  7.8 Whoscored Rating

It was a difficult decision when it came to predicting the Bilbao IF with both Williams and Sancet standing out. There were significantly more winger options in comparison to central players and in the end that was the deciding factor for me.

Kadidiatou Diani - RW - 89 > 90 OVR

One goal, two assists  /  Paris (W) 1 - Lyon (W) 6  /  9.8 Sofascore Rating

Anyone who bought Centurion Geyoro will be happy to see this potential IF with the strong link offering the ideal chemistry between the pairing. Diani caused havoc down the right flank on Sunday, being directly involved in three Lyon goals.

Simon Banza - ST - 78 > 82 OVR

Three goals, one assist  /  Braga 6 - Portimonense 1  /  10 Sofascore Rating

One of the best squad foundations cards of FIFA 23 was Simon Banza. This IF won’t have the same appeal but the Frenchman is inevitable after being involved in four goals for Braga on Saturday.

Substitutes

Bartłomiej Wdowik - LB - 63 > 80 OVR

Two goals and clean sheet  /  Jagiellonia 4 - Stal Mielec 0  /  9.1 Sofascore Rating

Big defensive upgrades seem to be occurring regularly recently and we have another with Wdowik. Wdowik will receive a plus 17 to 80 rating should he end up making the side and after a brace from LB he stands a strong chance.

Harry Toffolo - LB - 71 > 84 OVR

Two assists and clean sheet  /  Nottingham Forrest 2 - Aston Villa 0  /  8 Sky Rating

Although Toffolo was not officially named MOTM with two assists from LB and the Premiership offering fewer options than ever I can see him sneaking in. Especially with the revamp likely resulting in an extra featured player. Being a silver does harm his chances though.

Joakim Persson - LM - 60 > 80 OVR

Three goals, one assist  /  Djurgarden 2 - Sirius 4  /  9.8 Sofascore Rating

There were several bronze hat tricks this week but from the data we have so far it seems clear that the Swedish league will get preference. Additionally, Persson also provided an assist which will only help his cause.

Salma Paralluelo - LW - 78 > 84 OVR

Four goals  /  Barcelona (W) 8 - Sevilla (W) 0 - 10 Sofascore Rating

There were several options for this IF with the likes of Hansen scoring once and assisting three but Paralluelo is the clear shout for the IF having scored the initial four goals for Barcelona from the wing thus adding to the ever-growing list of usable Barcelona options.

Takuma Asano - CAM - 74 > 80 OVR

Two goals  /  Darmstadt 1 - Bochum 2  /  1.5 Kicker Rating

There were a lot of lower-rated options from various top-tier divisions this week so although a couple could miss out it was difficult to ignore them. Asano was one of those who would actually receive a very strong card should EA opt for him.

Oskar Zawada - ST - 68 > 80 OVR

Hat trick  /  Wellington Pheonix 5 - Brisbane Roar 2  /  MOT

The A-League hat trick was ignored last week but with a severe lack of strikers this time around I am willing to try once more with the division before then opting to ignore should Zawada’s treble also be ignored.

Lorenzo Colombo - ST - 72 > 80 OVR

Two goals  /  Verona 1 - Monza 3  /  8 Gazzetta Rating

Serie A was a difficult league to predict for this week thus Colombo is forced in over other lower-rated strikers to fill a likely quota from the Italian top tier. Colombo scored twice to help secure Monza all three points and received the highest rating from Gazzetta for the week.
