FC 24 Path to Glory Diogo Jota Player Review - Cop or Flop

It’s Friday which of course only means one thing.. A brand new promo! Well when I say new, it’s more of a return for the Euro Path to Glory cards, but new cards are always welcome with us! 

A lot of really exciting new players have been dropped, I'm looking directly at that CR7… But the Havertz and Griezmann as well looking really incredible! In the SBC section though, Liverpool fans are eating good again as we have yet another Liverpool player as an SBC and it is none other than the eSports Pro that is Diogo Jota!

At this stage of the game, a lot of cards are really all blending in together as there are so many high rated players that it almost feels like you won’t see much of a difference. The key difference this year however is in the playstyles. Of course the high stats are important but a good mix of playstyles really helps. Jota has been given Technical, Tiki Taka, Finesse and Relentless playstyle+s and I feel as an agile striker these will be quite the combo.

Jota is replacing Nunez for me here today in the striker role with some usual faces around him, these should all setup nicely to create some great goals. Chemstyle of choice for this card absolutely has to be the Engine here. Nearly maxes out the pace, passing and dribbling. Shooting doesn’t need any boost here as having finesse+ and 99 shot power i’m fairly confident he will score goals.

Yet again more segments than I would like to see here and I don’t want to get back into the grips of having TOTS/TOTW requirements but there are again a lot of those here.. The SBC is coming in at a whopping 830k to complete, at this stage of the game, this has to be the best card in the game to be worth that value and something is telling me he isn’t likely to be.

How did he perform in-game?

+ Shooting on this card was top notch. He could fire the ball in the back of the net with ease! Of course having the finesse trait is always an added bonus that will make scoring easy.

+ Dribbling was also very impressive as well. Especially when utilising the technical dribbling. High agility and balance meant he had total control of the ball in high pressure scenarios.

+ Passing on this card was also great, using the tiki taka playstyle in tight situations helped create some real nice goals

+ Positioning was near enough perfect, always moving around into open space to receive the ball and send it to the back of the net

/ Despite the 82 strength he seemed to be knocked off the ball quite easily.

Diogo Jota - Cop or Flop?

This is likely to be a common theme at this stage of the game, because I mentioned earlier that a lot of cards are now blending in and looking very much the same. So the price has to be so much better here. Now of course I haven’t touched on the “Live Card” aspect. France & Portugal kick off as we speak so this card is heavily reliant on the outcome of this game, but I still feel that even with the upgrade, this SBC just isn’t worth completing due to the 800K+ pricetag.

Take the Nunez SBC, 600k, which is still expensive, but in my opinion is a far better card and performs much better in-game. 800k on an SBC this late is absurd and a hard one to sell.  If Portugal win the entire tournament and this card ends up as a 98/99 rated card then maybe I'll look back and say this was worthwhile. But right now, I would stay clear of this SBC.
