Following on from Arsenal, we’re staying in North London with Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs narrowly missed out on Champions League football last season, but with a huge set of younger players in the squad we’re expecting some tidy upgrades. They kicked off the season with a 1-1 draw away at Leicester, with Newcastle, Arsenal and Man United to face within their next 5…
Starting XI
Guglielmo Vicario (82>84)
It was a very impressive debut season for Guglielmo Vicario and was a much needed upgrade on the ageing Hugo Lloris. The Italian kept 7 cleans sheets in the Premier League last season so we’ve decided to go for a +2 upgrade to 84.
Pedro Porro (81>83)
Another +2 for the defence, this time with Pedro Porro. He’s already an FPL favourite for this season and with an upgrade we expect a similar level of appreciation in FC 25 starter teams. Porro has already opened his account for the season and follows on from his 10 goal contributions in 23/24.
Cristian Romero (82>83)
We can’t upgrade everyone by +2, but we’re giving Cuti an upgrade. Taking him from 82 to 83. His defensive performances were impressive enough, but he also managed to chip in with 5 goals last season. Just like Porro, an incredible option for your starter teams.
Micky van de Ven (78>81)
At this point you might as well rock an entire Spurs back line for those first few weeks. Micky van de Ven was super popular at the beginning of FC 24, and with an improved card on its way we’re sure he’ll be used even more this year. 89 Pace on a CB, get him straight into the team.
Destiny Udogie (77>81)
The upgrades don’t stop there. We’re giving Destiny Udogie a whopping +4 from his 77 base in FC 24. The Italian has dominated down his left hand side this season both offensively and defensively and a well deserved upgrade should be coming his way.
Pape Matar Sarr (72>76)
Pape Sarr was a staple in the Spurs midfield last season, featuring in 34 of their 38 Premier League matches. A solid season for the man from Senegal meaning we’re upping him to a gold. We’ve gone for a +4 to 76 but could easily be a couple of ratings higher!
Rodrigo Bentancur (82>82)
It had to happen at some point, we can’t be upgrading every player after a 5th place finish. We’re keeping Benta at an 82 after a decent season. Not enough for a downgrade but also didn’t show enough for any upgrade.
James Maddison (84>85)
Up until Christmas James Maddison was one of the best player in the Premier League, his form may have dipped slightly in the back end of the season but was still one of the best players at Tottenham last season. We’re giving him a +1, he needs an upgrade but can’t see him breaking into the 86 range.
Brennan Johnson (76>79)
We think a +3 is on the way for Brennan Johnson. 5 goals and 10 assists in the league is a fantastic return in his debut season for the club. With a striker alternate position, keep an eye out for him for the Founders Evo…
Dominic Solanke (75>82)
The biggest upgrade in the team goes to Spurs’ big summer signing, Dominic Solanke. Used to be scouse, no longer has a seaside house. Solanke made the £55m switch and after a 19 goal season we’re expecting big things from Dom in 24/25. We think an 82 is more than deserved and can’t wait for some special cards too!
Heung Min Son (87>87)
After 17 goals and 10 assists Heung Min Son could easily be upgraded to an 88 but we’ve played it safe and kept at an 87. If Spurs managed to sneak into the Champions League then it would have been a no brainer, but because of that we’ve kept him 87.
Bench
The biggest upgrade on the bench is new summer signing Archie Gray, who we’ve bumped up a huge +12 from 64 to 76. The 18 year old bossed it as Leeds last season and doesn’t look out of place in a Top 6 midfield. An upgrade is also on its way for Dragusin after an impressive first season, but there will be a downgrade for Turbo Timo. As much as we loved his Fantasy card, just 4 goals and 3 assists isn’t great for an attacker…
