It’s a new Liverpool era under Arne Slot from 2024 onwards but can he bring success back to Anfield after years of Manchester City dominance? They’re the only Premier League team not to make a signing this season so the only changes we’ll be seeing are in their ratings. They’re off to a brilliant start this season with 2 wins from 2 and still no goals conceded.
Starting XI
Alisson (89>89)
Alisson is arguably Liverpool’s most important player and it’s no coincidence that they dropped to third place with him missing a quarter of the season. It may not have been the best season for Liverpool after falling out of the title race towards the end of the year, but we see no reason for a downgrade. Alisson stays at 89 for us.
Trent Alexander Arnold (86>87)
We wouldn’t usually base a Right Back’s performance on goal contributions but Trent is different, unfortunately it wasn’t a great season in terms of attacking output but his overall game did improve. We’ve gone with a +1 for Trent but wouldn’t be shocked if he stays 86.
Virgil van Dijk (89>89)
We’ve seen more van Dijk this year than our own families and expect more of the same for FC 25. It was a solid enough season for Virgil, followed up by a Semi-Final run at Euro 2024 so we can’t see anything but an 89 next year!
Ibrahim Konate (81>83)
Konate looks to have taken the lead as VVD’s partner after Quansah failed to impress in their opener against Ipswich. He had a fantastic season last year and we’re expecting a +2 for the Frenchman in FC 25.
Andy Robertson (86>85)
The first downgrade in our team is for left back Andy Robertson. After a poor season for his standards we’ve decided to drop him by 1, unfortunately he’s lost that spot as the best left back in the league for us.
Ryan Gravenberch (79>79)
It was a solid first season on Merseyside for Gravenberch but nothing too special, meaning we’ve kept him at 79. He’s started the season off promisingly so don’t be surprised to see some special cards in FC 25!
Alexis Mac Allister (82>84)
Alexis Mac Allister took the league by storm in 2023/24 and was one of the best midfielders in the league. We’ve upped him by 2 to 84 but honestly, he could range from anywhere from 84 to 87 depending on how generous EA are with upgrades…
Dominik Szoboszlai (82>84)
We’ve got another +2 in midfield this time for Hungarian, Dominik Szoboszlai. It was a solid debut season for Szobo with a solid haul of goal returns, well deserved +2 from us!
Mohammed Salah (89>89)
Our third and final 89 rated Liverpool player enters the Top 10, and it’s no surprise that it’s Mo Salah. The Egyptian had another impressive season infront of goal, but that’s just the standard for this level of player. Another 30+ goal season is what’s needed for Salah to hit 90.
Darwin Nunez (82>84)
18 goals across all competitions for Darwizzy in 23/24 which brings in a well deserved +2 for us. We’d have to see a much better return to see him reach the next rating, but for now he looks to be an incredible starter item!
Luis Diaz (84>84)
Rounding off the attack is Luis Diaz. There was a very minimal 15 minute period this window where a move to Manchester City was on the cards but that was shut down instantly. An average season for Diaz means he’ll stay at an 84 in our books.
Bench
The bench is looking okay with an upgrade for Cody Gakpo after an impressive Euros. Upgrades all around for youngsters Jones, Elliot, Kelleher and Bradley.
