How Do Evolutions Work in FC 25?

FC 25 is here and we’re more excited than ever to get stuck into Evolutions! This year there has been a slight change to the way Evolutions work but don’t worry we’re here to break everything down for you!

Evolutions are back for their second year and after seeing how popular and engaged people were with them in FC 24, we’re expecting them to be bigger and better for FC 25.

How do Evolutions Work? Feature Recap

This first section will be a recap on Evolutions as a feature, if you already know how Evolutions work feel free to skip further down where we’ll be covering the changes made to FC 25 Evolutions.

Evolutions give you the opportunity to upgrade your favourite players through objectives in different game modes. Before you submit any, be sure to remember these following things!

You can only complete each Evolution once. As soon as you submit a player into a selected Evolution this then becomes unavailable.
Evolutions are untradable. Once you commit a player to an Evolution they become untradeable even if they have been purchased from the Transfer Market.
In Progress Evolutions can not be submitted into SBCs. If you’re unsure on who to Evolve but would like a higher rated card for SBCs, these need to be completed before doing so, In Progress cards can not be used as fodder.

Can I Evolve an already Evolved Player?

Yes. Providing they fit the required criteria then yes, already Evolved players can be placed into another Evolution. This means there is potential to keep upgrading the same player throughout the year to keep your favourite player in line with the power curve!

Are Evolutions Free?

Yes and No. Last year we saw most evolutions were free and not come at any cost at all but there will be some that you will have to purchase for either FC Points or Coins.

Which Players Can Be Evolved?

Essentially any player in the game can be evolved as long as they fit a certain criteria. So don’t worry if your favourite player doesn’t fit the first set, there will be plenty throughout the year! The first Evolutions in FC 24 ranged from Bronze midfielders going all the way up to an 84 from a +15 Pace on your Centre Halves!

Cosmetic Evolutions

Cosmetic Evolutions are now a core feature of Evo’s, after being tested with the Champs Red Card and TOTY Time Evolutions, cosmetic Evolutions will be more common in FC 25. You can change the colour of your Evolution, add badges to your card (Club Legend, Top Scorer etc). These do not change how your card plays in game, just the way it looks.

Stat Limits

FC 25 Evolutions are near enough the same as in FC 25 but with one new change - Stat Limits. We’ll still see some entry requirements for Evolutions but they’ll be less strict and allow for more Evo upgrades. Stat Limits will cap how far a stat can be upgraded. For example, Intro to Stat Limits gives out +2 Dribbling but has a cap at 87. Players with 86 Dribbling will still be eligible but can only receive a maximum of 87, this will allow for less restrictions for Evolutions and hopefully more chances to upgrade our cards!

For example my Savio can receive the full Dribbling upgrade from 84 to 86 as this is under the cap, but Doku will only receive a +1 from 86 to 87 as this would exceed the cap.

Evolution Builder

For FC 25 we’ve introduced the Evolution Builder. We know how popular chaining Evolutions was in FC 24 and you can now build and find out the best paths for your favourite players! Just switch from Player Stats to Evolution Builder on the player page and get building!

Evolutions Watchlist

Another heavily requested feature for FC 25 was the Evolutions Watchlist! We all have favourite players that we’d love to put through an Evolution and they’re sometimes the only ones you want to see as soon as the Evolution is released, well now you can! Simply head to their player page, click the button on the top right of the card and add to the Watchlist. Your player will then appear under My Evolution Upgrades whenever they’re eligible for an Evo!
