FC 25 96 End of Era Thomas Muller Player Review

Another day in the finale of the team of the season promo, but we are here to honour an absolute legend of the game from the End of an Era cards that EA are currently dropping. This man is almost definitely Bayern Munich’s great player of all time and up there with Germany’s. It is of course, none other than Thomas Muller.

That’s right, Thomas Muller End of an Era SBC is here as we all correctly assumed from the teasers dropped by EA earlier this week. He’s certainly had quite the career with Bayern, so he is more than deserving of this item.

Muller hasn’t been blessed with many special items this year. His previous item is the Showdown SBC which of course gained a boost. So, compared to that 92-rated version, this EOAE card has a +4 overall boost. Of course comes with 4 playstyle pluses in Rapid, Incisive, Press Proven and Low Driven. For me it’s a slightly odd combination of Playstyles. He can play both CAM and Striker, and it feels like this selection of PS has been made that half suit each of those roles.

But stats wise this is great looking item. 95 Pace, Shooting and Dribbling. 96 passing and 85 physicals. He looks absolutely solid.

Chemstyle almost doesn’t matter at this stage, but if you were to choose any, then the Engine is likely the best choice here. Max out that pace, passing and dribbling.

Here are the following segments to unlock the End of an Era Muller SBC:

13 total segments for this SBC which sure is a bit of work to get through with a price tag of just slightly over a million coins in value. Of course we have plenty of fodder available to work through this but with just a week to complete, this one might be a tough sell in my opinion.

How did he perform in-game?

+ His passing was absolutely superb. His vision was excellent when it came to picking out a pass to his team through a crowd of the opposition. Incisive passes were on point and setup some great goals.

+ Shooting as a whole felt decent. Of course having the low driven+ helped a lot but he simply never missed his mark.

+ His dribbling and ball control was so clean and agile. He kept the ball stuck to his feet when attempting to work through the defensive wall of the opposition.

+ For a CAM, his pace was perfect. Having rapid+ allowed him to make quick burst through defenders to put him through on goal. I will say though as a striker he didn’t feel amazing running at distance.

- His positioning when beginning an attacking run felt a little off for me. Often finding him fall a little far back behind his midfield teammates, creating a bit of absence in the attacking midfield. But once we were at the final stretch, he suddenly appeared and made his presence known.

Muller - Cop or Flop?

This is a great card, but simply put, there are many others just like it. The TOTS promo has brought to many high rated cards now that it’s become more and more difficult to standout. The only difference between these cards is the pricing. Somehow, I feel if this was a tradeable TOTS item, it would come at a large fraction of the price. I’m talking maybe even 10% of the value.

This card was solid in-game but honestly, this SBC needed to be a hell of a lot cheaper to be worth it. No disrespect to Muller here, But there are more EOAE cards coming and with Shapeshifters right around the corner, I would possibly save your fodder unless you are a Bayern fan.

Verdict = FLOP
