TOTW 15 PREDICTIONS

So here it is, our predictions for the TOTW that will carry us across the festive period. If routine repeats itself, EA will release a TOTW SBC alongside this, which is why we may see some bigger names, for performances that may not usually quite be enough!

Starting Eleven

Oblak

Let’s kick start the predictions this week with a superstar, a man who is arguably the best current goalkeeper world football. Atletico picked up the points in a narrow 1-0 win over Espanyol on the weekend, and while Oblak may not have scored the match winning goal, his 5 saves and man of the match performance was definitely the most important on the pitch.

Albiol

Over to Italy now, where we find another game that was decided by the narrowest of margins. Napoli took the points in a 1-0 win at home to SPAL this week, and with a clean sheet to his name, alongside the match winning goal, Albiol could very possibly be receiving his first inform card of the season this week.

Lala

This one is a little more uncertain, it was a fantastic performance, but was it enough for a third inform? Nice were 2-0 winners away to Strasbourg this week, and while Lala may not have managed to find the net himself, he did manage to maintain a clean sheet, while providing assists for both of the goals too.

Alba

Barcelona continued their dominance atop La Liga with yet another win this week, as they brushed aside Celta Vigo in a 2-0 home win. With a clean sheet and an assist we will most likely get the first Alba inform card in FUT 19.

Savic

For those of you who may have missed out on this mans Europa RTTF card, fear not, as this week may bring you the next best thing. Lazio were comfortable 3-1 winners over Cagliari this week, and with goals spread across the team, this spot if anyones to take. Savic was incredible from his midfield role, dominating the match and also finding the back of the net once himself.

Aranguiz

Over to Germany next, where we Leverkusen played hosts to the travelling Hertha Berlin for their Bundesliga fixture this weekend. The game provided fans with 4 goals, however it was the hosts who took the points in a 3-1 win on the day. Havertz picked up 2 goals during the match, however he already has a special card and didn’t quite achieve the man of the match award. Aranguiz on the other hand did, and with his 2 assists alongside his top tier performance, this is the man who makes our lineup this week.

Parejo

Valencia continued their impressive start to the season with yet another win on the weekend, as they pushed past SD Huesca and picked up the points in a 2-1 win this week. Parejo was in absolutely incredible form, dominating the midfield, running circles around the opposition, and also scoring one of the goals.

Lingard

Everything good has to come to an end, and everything bad usually ends long before this. Mourinho was finally removed from his managerial role at United this week, and with it we saw the appointment of United legend, Solskjaer. It seems like this was all that was needed, as United went on to dominate in a manner that fans have been after for years. The match finished 5-1, and while Pogba secured 2 assists, and has a chance of making the cut with just this, it was simply too hard to exclude Lingard, who managed to secure himself 2 goals and an assist as well.

Ribery

It is the year 2040, and Ribery has just scored another brace for a dominant Bayern Munich. Age is only a number, a statement that this frenchman seems to live by year after year. Bayern took all the points with a 3-0 win away to Frankfurt this week, and with two goals to his name, Ribery is fully deserving of his spot amongst the elite this week.

Son

The entire community dreamt of a day when EA would release a striker FUTMAS Son, and while his card was released, lives were spared as his position remained unchanged. Son however had over plans, and with time running out to find himself an inform in 2018, he went out and put in one hell of a performance, just in time to make everybody's Christmas extra magical. Tottenham destroyed Everton 6-2 on Sunday, and while Kane had a fantastic performance with 2 goals, Son came out just ahead, with 2 goals and an assist under his belt.

Aubameyang

Our final selection within the starting eleven this week, sees a man who not only featured a few weeks back, but also took the October POTM award as well. Arsenal continued their impressive start to the season with yet another win on the weekend, taking all 3 points in a 3-1 win over Burnley. Aubameyang was once again the man of the match, scoring twice and not only giving himself a chance at a second inform, but giving himself a chance at a second POTM too.

Substitutes and Reserves

Lafont

Onto the bench now, and as is routine, let’s kick start this with a goalkeeper. Fiorentina were away to AC Milan for their fixture this week, where they managed to edge out a 1-0 win. Despite the result, things were far from smooth sailing, with Lafont facing a total of 13 shots across the match. He stood strong, and made save after save, to ensure the clean sheet, and the win for his club.

Grimaldo

Over to Portugal next, where a match between Benfica and Braga provided fans with an incredible 8 goals. It was fairly one sided as a whole though, with Benfica taking the points in a 6-2 win on the day. Grimaldo was in fine form, and despite not managing to secure the clean sheet, he showed his attacking capabilities, with a goal and an assist.

Sane

We all love it when we see a OTW player receive an upgrade, and it feels like EA share this joy. Schalke were 3-1 winners away to Stuttgart this week, and despite a phenomenal performance from Skrybski up top, with a goal and an assist, it’s the center back who gets our vote. Sane was solid across the 90 minutes, and although he may not have quite won that man of the match award, his fantastic performance and goal could very possibly be just enough to see him hit his first upgrade of the campaign.

Budescu

Al Shabab picked up a very comfortable win with a 4-0 victory over Al Batin this week. Budescu was simply outstanding, scoring twice and providing an assist for a third, firing himself into a prime position for an Inform this week.

Brooks

Back across to the Premier League now, where Bournemouth continued their incredible start to the season with a 2-0 win at home to Brighton. Brooks was the man of the hour, playing on the wing and scoring both of the goals to potentially give him a huge upgrade this week.

Lica

Belenenses made light work of Aves in their match this week, as they took the points with a dominating 5-2 win. Lica was easily the best player on the pitch, scoring twice, providing an assist and taking the man of the match award as well.

Gayle

Back across to England now, however it isn’t the top flight of football we will be looking at, but the championship instead. West Brom obliterated Rotherham 4-0 this week, and with 3 goals to his name, Gayle looks very likely to be receiving a fairly large upgrade come Wednesday.

Townsend

As a Liverpool fan, this has to be one of the best Christmas presents we could have received. Crystal Palace pulled off a shocking 3-2 win away to Manchester City on the weekend, and while the result alone is impressive enough, the wonder goa scored by Townsend deserves a statue, however a TOTW card will do for now.

Kuwas

Heracles took all the points with a 3-0 away win against Excelsior this week. Kuwas led from the front, and was non-stop across the 90 minutes. With 1 goal and 2 assists to his name, hopefully he has done enough to secure his spot amongst this week’s superstars.

Tekpetey

Back across to Germany now, where we find an 8 goal thriller in the lower divisions. Paderborn were 6-2 winners over the travelling Darmstadt, and Tekpetey played a monumental part in this. With 3 goals to his name and an assist, there is simply no chance that this man misses out this week.

Diagne

Kasimpasa were surprise 4-1 winners over Besiktas this week, and while there were a handful of incredible performances, only one man was ever going to take this spot. Diagne was simply sensational, scoring not once, not twice, but three times to secure his hat-trick and guide his club to victory.

Siebatcheu

Our final stop this week sees us heading back to France, where Rennes picked up a 4-0 win at home to Nimes. Siebatcheu is the only nomination for this spot, terrorising defenders from start to finish, providing an assist, and finding the back of the net twice himself. Surely he has done enough to see his name in lights this week.
