TOTW 4 Predictions

Hopefully, everyone competed in the opening Weekend league as it looks to be a TOTW to remember with even the lower end red picks being very usable. Headlining we have the likes of Mbappe, Depay, OTW Werner and maybe even a SIF Lozano!

GOALKEEPER

Jan Oblak – GK - OVR 91>>92
We have already seen one world-class goalkeeper pick up an early IF from La Liga with Courtois and we could be about to see another. Atletico Madrid maintained their unbeaten record in the division via a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo. Oblak made a total of five saves during the match and was named MOTM from Marca with a perfect 3-star match rating.

DEFENDERS

Harry Maguire – CB - OVR 82>>84
With a lot of low scoring draws occurring in the Prem this weekend it was difficult to select players from the division with Werner being the only obvious selection. I fully expect one player from United to feature but who that will be is a difficult call. Rashford with one goal and two assists is likely to be a popular choice but I am opting for a different route. A lot of strikers performed well while not many defenders did so Maguire's goal could see him clinch it. The United man has been under a lot of stick recently, but this performance will help him out. He was unlucky not to double his tally with another effort being cleared off the line.

Pepe – CB - OVR 81>>84
After the Portuguese league had been snubbed several times during the first couple of weeks I was hesitant to include Pepe in this side but with options being few and far between at the back and it being one of the biggest fixtures in the division it was an option I just couldn’t ignore. Although on paper he has no goals and no assists Abola awarded the defender MOTM with an 8 match rating. A rating which often sees players included and thus I had to take the punt here.

Michael Keane – CB - OVR 78>>81
The Merseyside derby is a game which often brings an IF and with Everton’s start to the season it meant that much more. Although the game ended in 2-2 a draw I can still see an IF being awarded. Mane can feel robbed after debateably being denied a second late on so instead Keane looks to me the best option from the game, scoring once in said 2-2 draw.

MIDFIELDERS

Kylian Mbappe – LW - OVR 90>>91
With this being the first WL team of FIFA 21, it was always likely that we would see a couple of big names included. Thankfully this has been made easy for me with several big names performing well. Mbappe gets the nod for his two goals in a convincing win for PSG. Alternatively, we could see Sarabia for one goal and two assists but I would expect the marquee player here

Parejo – CM - OVR 85>>86
Over the course of the season, Parejo is a player we often see featured for single contributions and while some may look as that as lucky, I think it is a testament to just how good he is as a player. The Spanish midfielder had to make the move from Valencia to Villarreal in the summer due to financial problems at his former club and to make matters worse he has now scored the winning goal between the two sides this weekend. Marca awarded him with a 3-star match rating and with options being tight this week I can see him sneaking in.

Thomas Muller – CAM - OVR 86>>87
Once again Lewandowski was involved for Munich scoring twice in their 4-1 win over Arminia but it was Muller who in particular stood out with two of his own alongside providing an assist for one of Lewan's goals. With the Polish striker recently picking up a TOTW card it only increases the chance of Muller getting in instead.

Hirving Lozano – LM - OVR 80>>85
EA is often hesitant to award a SIF early on which does see players like Lozano miss out early on but under the circumstances, I simply cannot ignore Lozano’s brace. Napoli managed a convincing 4-1 win over the attractive Atalanta with Chucky being the man to cause the damage. Should EA opt to ignore him we should see either Politano or Oshimen instead.

FORWARDS

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – ST - OVR 83>>85
Ibrahimovic continues to defy all logic, the now almost 40-year-old striker is still scoring for fun at the top levels of football. Most recently finding himself named MOTM with an 8 rating from Gazzetta after scoring both AC Milan goals in a 2-1 win over rivals Inter Milan.

Timo Werner – ST - OVR 85>>86
It's taken some time for Werner to get into his stride at Chelsea with the German struggling to find himself within the goals for his new side. Although they only managed a 3-3 draw with Southampton this weekend the German was heavily influential in the result. Scoring twice and assisting another which will inevitably see his OTW get a nice little upgrade next Wednesday.

Memphis Depay – ST - OVR 85>>86
It’s not often that we see a striker included for not scoring, especially with a big name such as Depay but the Lyon striker was still heavily influential on the end result with the Dutchman supplying all three assists in a hard fought 3-2 win over Strasbourg. L’equipe awarded the performance with an 8/10 making him the joint highest of the week in the division.

SUBSTITUTES

Sergio Padt – GK - OVR 75>>81
It’s not often that you see the Eredivisie claim more than one spot in TOTW but it does happen now and again so I am happy to take the punt on it, especially with one being a goalkeeper. Padt although was not POTW, did claim the same rating with an 8. He made a total of six saves in their 0-0 draw to keep them in the game.

Dimitri Foulquier – RB - OVR 75>>81
La Liga was full of surprises this weekend with several big sides losing to teams they would expect to beat. One of those was Granada’s 1-0 win over Sevilla. With Herrera coming off the bench to score late on. Foulquier was named MOTM for his defensive display alongside providing the assist on the late winner.

Jonathon Bamba – RM - OVR 78>>81
There were three strong contenders for TOTW 4 from Lille after their 4-0 win this weekend with Fonte, Sanches and Bamba all picking up an 8/10 from L’equipe. With Bamba being the only one of those three not to have already picked up a TOTW card so far it makes sense that EA would opt for him over the other two. With one goal and two assists he also looks the best bet on paper.

Mohammed Kudus – CAM - OVR 75>>81
With the current game being a case of picking the fastest players for many an IF Kudus looks to be a favorite among the community, especially with that strong link to Promes. Well, Kudus is very likely to happen after scoring once and assisting two more in a 5-1 win for Ajax. He was awarded POTW from VI which practically secures his spot in the side.

Dani Olmo – LW - OVR 79>>82
Both Olmo and Angelino are heavily considered for this side but realistically only one will be able to make the cut. As is usually the case with these decisions you have to back the MOTM and it was Olmo who claimed that award, assisting both goals in Leipzig’s 2-0 win as they maintain first position.

Edin Dzeko – GK - OVR 83>>85
Back over to Italy now where several strikers scored twice. For me, it was between Dzeko and Simeone but I opted for the Bosnian due to the convincing result from Roma and the fact that he is a bigger name. Although Belotti was awarded a higher match rating than both I mentioned seeing as his team lost the match I can’t see it going his way. Dzeko’s brace helped Roma to a 5-2 win.

Youssef El Arabi – ST - OVR 78>>81
The Greek division often gets ignored when it comes to these sorts of things with only a select few getting in over the year. El Arabi is a familiar face though and once again looks to be included in EA’s side. That is after he came off the bench to score a hat trick for Olympiakos in their 4-0 win over Atromitos

RESERVES

Connor Goldson – CB - OVR 72>>79
It was the weekend of the Old Firm Derby and Rangers took the match 2-0 thanks to two goals from their CB, Connor Goldson. It was a result that saw Rangers go four points clear at the top as they continue to stop Celtic’s dominance of the division.

Nick Lima – RB - OVR 69>>77
With multiple defenders scoring more than once again this weekend I would not be surprised to see a couple of them make the reserves. I think Goldson is nailed on due to the game he played in but with Lima scoring twice in a 4-0 win over La Galaxy I do think that he is also a strong contender for this side.

Abdul Khalili – LM - OVR 70>>78
Going from the past few weeks EA has seemed to lean towards players with three assists over those with two goals and one assist. Taking that into consideration I have opted for Khalili over other options of which I feel are stronger personally to follow EA’s trend. The Swedish LM provided three assists during a 4-2 win for Hammarby.

Jonathon Levi – RW - OVR 68>>78
It was slim pickings when it came to hat tricks this week and thus those who managed it are pretty much guaranteed to pick up an IF. Levi scored all three of his side's goals during a 3-0 win over Varbergs, putting Norrkoping into second place.

Mario Gavranovic – ST - OVR 68>>76
We were treated with an IF Orsic in TOTW 2 and now we could have a way to link him into some sides with Gavranovic providing a strong link. The Zagreb striker scored all three of their goals during a 3-2 thriller in a top of the table clash with Gorica.
