The first Premier League Player of the Month Winner for FIFA 23 has been announced!
Erling Haaland Announced as Premier League POTM for August
Erling Haaland has been announced as the FIFA 23 August Player of the Month for the Premier League, following an incredible month.
Scoring 9 times in 5 games, along with one assist, he’s more than worthy of the award, and will be released as a 90-rated SBC in FIFA 23.
When will the Premier League August POTM be released?
Currently, there are no scheduled release dates for the Premier League August POTM SBC in FIFA 23, however, we can expect the winners’ SBC to be released around September 30, coinciding with the full release of FIFA 23, similar to the Bundesliga POTM SBC.
What is Player of the Month in FIFA 23?
Player of the Month (POTM) is an award that is given to the leading performers across leagues globally, and in FIFA 23, this is no different.
At the start of every month, for the following selected leagues, a handful of the top performers from the previous month’s gameweeks are nominated for a special Player of the Month award, with the winner chosen by the FIFA community.
The winner is then released into FIFA 23 Ultimate Team soon after as a Player of the Month item via a limited-time SBC, with boosted stats and a unique card design.
Premier League August POTM Nominees
The Premier League’s August POTM Nominees have been revealed on EA’s Official Premier League POTM website, including a star-studded lineup of nominees, with the FUT Community able to vote for who they want to see released as a POTM Player Squad Building Challenge (SBC) in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.
Pascal Groß - Brighton
Matches Played: 5 Goals: 3 Assists: 1
Brighton have been a pleasure to watch in the Premier League so far this season, and Groß has been pivotal in their success. A player of the match performance at Old Trafford on the opening day stands out especially and could make the German a good-value SBC at the start of FUT 23.
Erling Haaland - Manchester City
Matches Played: 5 Goals: 9 Assists: 1
We’re going to be saying this a lot, aren’t we? Haaland is our favourite to win the August POTM vote following a 9-goal return in 5, including back-to-back hat-tricks against Crystal Palace & Nottingham Forest. Safe to say he can do it in the Prem, and he’s adapted rather quickly to Pep’s possession-based system.
Gabriel Jesus - Arsenal
Matches Played: 5 Goals: 3 Assists: 3
Arguably one of the signings of the summer, Jesus’ importance to Arsenal is already evident, with 6 goal contributions in Arsenal’s opening 5 fixtures. His brace of goals and assists at the Emirates against Leicester may suggest that Jesus will be in regular contention for these POTM awards.
Aleksandar Mitrović - Fulham
Matches Played: 5 Goals: 5
A player that was under heavy scrutiny coming into Fulham’s campaign, Mitrović has proven he’s more than capable of performing at the highest level. Goals against Liverpool & Arsenal in August, along with a consolation against Spurs highlight that the Serbian isn’t just here to make up the numbers this season.
Nick Pope - Newcastle
Matches Played: 5 Clean Sheets: 3
The new Newcastle keeper has been a colossus between the sticks after his bargain £10m move from Burnley. 3 clean sheets, and a pivotal performance in achieving a 3-3 draw at home to Manchester City could be enough to put Nick Pope into contention for the England #1, as well as an August POTM award.
Rodrigo - Leeds United
Matches Played: 5 Goals: 4 Assists: 1
Leeds under Jesse Marsch have had a strong start to their Premier League campaign, with the Spaniard Rodrigo spearheading their attack with 5 goal contributions in as many matches. With the potential to be a very meta early Premier League card, Rodrigo may attract some attention and POTM votes.
Wilfried Zaha - Crystal Palace
Matches Played: 5 Goals: 4
Crystal Palace’s talisman in the attack has caused a number of defences trouble already this season, with 4 goals already to his name, the standout being a beautifully taken finish at Anfield in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool.
