Road To The Knockout Promo Release Date
Road to the Knockouts has been confirmed by EA, and starts this Friday, October 7th!
Given that the European Competitions are already well underway, with half of the group games already played in the Champions League come the release of this event, it would make sense for it to arrive sooner rather than later.
What is the Road To The Knockout Promo?
Road to the Knockouts was previously introduced in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, as an extension of the popular Road to the Final Champions League themed event.
This promo focuses specifically on teams in the European Cup Competitions, including:
-
UEFA Champions League
-
UEFA Europa League
-
UEFA Europa Conference League
At the beginning of the event, several players from teams competing in these competitions are released into packs with upgraded items, that can upgrade further should their team progress to the knockout stages of their relevant competition.
With this event featuring players from some of the biggest clubs in European football, it’s certainly one to get excited for!
Road To The Knockout Predictions
There are many cards we’d love to see in Road to the Knockouts this year in FIFA 23, and with so many big teams involved, we hope to see a star-studded lineup.
In the Champions League, there are too many top teams and players to list off. From PSG, while we’d love to see the likes of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, we think Nuno Mendes would be an appropriate inclusion, to mirror Hakimi as a top-level PSG full-back option.
From the Premier League, Cristian Romero, Reece James & Luis Diaz could all feature for their respective teams, as well as a number of Manchester City players, of which so many could be included.
And of course, a RTTK Prediction wouldn’t be complete without the UCL Champions Real Madrid, and the wonderkid himself Vinicius Junior. Being an EA Ambassador, we highly rate his chances of being included in RTTK this year.
Moving through to the Europa League, there are fewer top teams to choose players from that will likely make it into packs, however, Spinazzola, Ødegaard, Canales and of course Cristiano Ronaldo are all standouts from the big teams currently competing on a Thursday night, sorry United fans.
Finally, from the Europa Conference League, Lucas Paqueta looks like a very likely West Ham inclusion, with Samuel Chukwueze a solid lower-rated inclusion for Villarreal (we’d have loved to chosen Danjuma again though).
How Do Road To The Knockout Cards Upgrade
We’re yet to see if Road to the Knockout cards upgrade in a similar fashion to last year in FIFA 22, but if we’re going off last year, this is what you can expect.
Last year, players included in the Road to the Knockouts promotion had the opportunity to receive up to 3 upgrades.
-
Initial upgrade for being included in Road to the Knockouts
-
+1 Upgrade for qualifying for the knockout stages of their current competition (teams who qualify for the UEFA Europa League from the UEFA Champions League are not eligible for this upgrade)
-
Winning 3 out of 4 of their remaining group stage matches.
Given that 3 Group Stage matches will have already been played in the UEFA Champions League by the time RTTK is released, expect to see some changes to the way cards upgrade in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.
