MattThe Out of Position Promo has been confirmed as the next promo to be released in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team and is looking to be similar to the Shapeshifters event that we’ve had in previous years of FUT.
Evidently, Out of Position will feature cards in new and exciting positions to their regular FUT items, with stat shifts likely to represent their slightly different playstyle, not too dissimilar from the Rulebreakers event that will be ending soon.

Out of Position Mini Release - October 29th
The Out of Positions Mini Release has been announced, with 4 cards added into packs until Friday!
Out of Position Challenge 1 - October 29th
Complete this Out of Position Challenge to earn a Prime Gold Players Pack (Untradeable).

Out of Position Barkley Player Pick SBC - October 29th
Another Out of Position SBC to dive into, this time it’s a choice between 86 RW Barkley (also able to play RM, LM & LW) and 86 ST Barkley (also able to play CF)
Out of Position Hudson-Odoi Objective - October 28th
The Objective for this week is Callum Hudson-Odoi, a very solid option indeed!

Out of Position Loading Screen Update - October 27th
The Out of Position Loading screen has been updated with 24 hours to go until the promo, with the following cards teased.
- Liverpool & 92 Dribbling – We predict Mohamed Salah
- 90 Rated CM – We predict João Cancelo (according to rumours)
- French & 95 Pace – We predict Theo Hernández
Out of Position Loading Screen Reveal - October 26th
The Out of Position Promo has been revealed with a Loading Screen, confirming the release date for this Friday, October 28th, along with the new OoP Card Design!
What is the Out Of Position Promo?
While this is the first time we’ve had a Promo called “Out of Position” in FIFA Ultimate Team, the concept of this event has been seen many times in FUT before.
Shapeshifters is the closest comparison to this event, which typically arrives later in the FUT cycle, featuring game-changing boosts and position-changed cards such as 99 Cristiano Ronaldo going from ST to LW, and 99 Lionel Messi changing from a RW to a CF.
Given that we’re only in October, don’t expect 99-rated cards, however, we can expect some exciting cards in new positions, with potentially some different stat distributions to highlight these new playstyles, like the Rulebreakers event.
Out of Position Promo Release Date
As confirmed in the loading screen released on October 26, the Out of Positions event will be released on Friday October 28th.
At the moment, it’s unclear as to whether this will be a 1 or 2 week event, however with Team of the Group Stage likely to arrive very soon, after the upcoming final gameweek of Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League Group Stages, don’t be surprised if this was a short term 1-week event.
Out of Position Predictions & Rumours
Similar to Rulebreakers, the Out of Position Promo is not related to real-world performances, meaning any player in FUT can potentially be included in this event.
The Out of Position players have been heavily speculated and rumoured on Social Media, however there is still a lot to be confirmed!
It’s looking to be a very Premier League heavy event, with the top rumoured cards including Mohamed Salah changed to a ST from RW, João Cancelo converted to a CM from a LB, Reece James fulfilling his full attacking potential going from RWB to RW, as well as Ivan Perišić moving to a central CAM role from LM.
It’s also highly probable that the players included in this event will have even more secondary positions to choose from, so keep an eye out for that!
Also rumoured, we have a very strong Serie A presence, with an attacking version of Theo Hernández, a central Domenico Berardi, as well as a potential beast in Denzel Dumfries at CB.
The FUT rumour mill has also extended into Ligue 1, with two popular FUT fan favourites in Hamari Traoré & Seko Fofana, who will add more depth to a very PSG oriented Ligue 1 meta.
Out of Position Card Designs
The official Out Of Position card design has been revealed, and the EA design team hasn’t disappointed at all, with another incredible, colourful, striking design!
