Premier League TOTS Prediction FIFA 23

It’s that time of the year again when we compile a squad of the best players over each league's campaign. We start off the predictions with the Premier League. A side dominated by Arsenal, Man City and the Newcastle defence.

Nick Pope - GK - 81 > 92 OVR

With just 24 goals conceded Pope has the best record in the division with Newcastle. On top of that, the Englishman has made a total of 67 saves.

There are several goalkeeping options with the likes of Ramsdale and Alisson especially standing out but can you ignore a keeper with just 24 goals against him? I don’t think so.

Gabriel - CB - 81 > 92 OVR

Arsenal are games away from securing the title yet and while Manchester City are hot on their heels it would take a bottle from Arsenal for them to lose it now.

They should dominate this side and Gabriel is the first of six in this 18-man prediction. Since making the move from Lille Gabriel has been a familiar face on the Arsenal side.

There were some question marks early on but the Brazilian has settled down and consistently performs for the Gunners now.

William Saliba - CB - 80 > 94 OVR

You could make a case for the entire Arsenal defence but realistically I think that two is the maximum we will see.

Saliba is of course the second, meaning both White and Zinchenko miss out on my prediction.

The central pairing has been sublime though and with them both having many years ahead of them it's a pairing that will likely be together for many years to come.

Kieran Trippier - RB - 84 > 93 OVR

Although Newcastle has significantly more funds now than in previous seasons when you look at their squad and how well they have performed you have to give credit to what Howe has achieved with them.

Trippier has played a giant role in their defensive success. They have the best defensive record in the division while Trippier also contributes offensively.

Bukayo Saka - RM - 82 > 95 OVR

Not enough is said about Saka at just 21 years of age he is among the best players in the Premier League. The potential has always been clear but the level he is playing at, especially in the second half of the season is beyond impressive.

The youngster now has twelve goals and ten assists to his name from 31 matches.

In a few years, we could we be talking about a potential Ballon d’Or winner? I don’t think it's impossible.

Kevin De Bruyne - CM - 91 > 97 OVR

De Bruyne often makes these sides on merit regardless of how good he has been. While he is not at the level he once was his performances this season have more than warranted selection.

With fifteen assists to his name, he once again leads the assist chart. Producing passes that no other can achieve regularly.

Martin Odegaard - CAM - 84 > 95 OVR

Odegaard was hyped up to be the world's brightest talent at just 16 years of age when signing for Real Madrid. Although he looked set to flop the pressure would have been unreal at that age.

The Norwegian is now showing exactly where that hype came from with sublime performances week in and week out for Arsenal.

At still only 24 years of age the best is likely still to come. eleven goals and seven assists is what he boasts in the Prem this campaign.

Marcus Rashford - LM - 81 > 94 OVR

Erik Ten Haag gets a lot of praise for what he has done for Manchester United and rightly so but another player who deserves a lot of credit is Marcus Rashford.

His performances have been sublime in the rejuvenated United side. You only have to look at how many player of the month awards (3) that Rashford has picked up to see his importance to the side. Fifteen goals from primarily an LM position is crazy.

Mohamed Salah - RW - 90 > 97 OVR

Liverpool has brutally underperformed this season there is no doubt about that and with many questionable results, it's no surprise to see them struggling for a European spot.

While their squad as a whole is likely to see minimal inclusions on this side, Salah is still someone you would expect to make it.

With fifteen goals and seven assists you can’t ignore the Egyptian despite it being lower than he has previously managed.

Harry Kane - ST - 89 > 96 OVR

Harry Kane has not been spoken about enough this season. The Englishman has played in the shadow of Erling Haaland but his tally has been very impressive indeed, especially playing in a side which is less dominant than City.

Kane currently sits on twenty-three goals for the season putting him second in the golden boot race.

Erling Haaland - ST - 88 > 97 OVR

After breaking record after record during his debut season at City it comes as no surprise to see Haaland included in the team of the season.

Although his goalscoring has somewhat slowed since the first half of the season his numbers recorded are still astonishing with 32 from 28 appearances. Will more records be broken this season? Only time will tell.

Substitutes

Sven Botman - CB - 80 > 90 OVR

I have already covered how good Newcastle's defence has been with both Pope and Trippier but at the heart of that defence is an unsung hero in Botman.

The Dutch defender often goes under the radar but since joining the club from Lille it's clear to see that he was fantastic business from the club.

Newcastle will likely spend a lot of money in the summer, especially if they manage the top four but Botman will remain at the heart of their defence.

Luke Shaw - LB - 80 > 91 OVR

During the Euro’s Shaw was back at his very best. Unfortunately, he then dropped off but his performances for United this season have seen him peak once again.

There are some shouts for Martinez and even Thiago Silva but with limited spots available I think it is Shaw who deserves to sneak in.

Rodri - CDM - 87 > 93 OVR

Manchester City options are difficult to fit into the side due to rotation but with City likely to finish second they will inevitably get several inclusions into the squad.

One player who often doesn't get the credit he deserves is Rodri, the Spaniard is a very reliable option in the middle of the pitch and is one of the few who doesn't get regularly rotated which shows just how important he is to them.

Casemiro - CDM - 89 > 94 OVR

While I do feel that Brighton will feature in this year's side it is difficult to single one of their options out. For that reason I have opted to play the numbers game and snub them for other options I feel have a higher chance on a player v player basis.

Casemiro has been phenomenal for United since making the move from Madrid, showing why he is referred to as one of the best in the world at what he does.

The Brazilian narrowly missed out on a spot in TOTY and I don’t feel the same will happen for the upcoming TOTS.

Gabriel Martinelli - LM - 78 > 93 OVR

With Jesus missing the majority of the season Arsenal have been without a set striker for the majority of the campaign. Thankfully for them, the three behind have all been on fire.

Martinelli completes the trio, all of which look set to receive TOTS cards. With 14 goals Martinelli is Arsenal's top goalscorer with his early season form especially showing a bright future ahead of the youngster.

Miguel Almiron - RW - 78 > 90 OVR

Almiron has significantly dropped off for the second half of the season which does put his inclusion under threat but his performances during the first half were among the very best and I think that should carry him through.

Even if it's a TOTS moment type of thing. The Paraguayan has made it into double figures on goals (11) which in a Newcastle side with only 39 goals shows his importance to them.

Ollie Watkins - ST - 78 > 91 OVR

With Toney presumably being subbed from the shortlist due to off-the-pitch antics it leaves the door open for an alternative player.

With Aston Villa and Watkins’ current form, they will be fresh on the mind giving him an advantage when it comes to team selection. Emery has worked wonders with this Villa side, led by Watkins who has managed 14 goals and 6 assists.
