85 - IF
2.0
Javier Pastore - the Invisible Man
By bigfatric, 27-11-2017

I used Pastore's IF card with an Engine chem style in a 4-2-3-1 narrow formation in a 3-man CAM team with 90 Rui Costa and Dybala's NIF. The main reason for using the chap was the green link to my striker, Mbappe.

I always expected him to be the weakest link in the attacking line-up, but even my low expectations weren't met. Pastore feels uncomfortable on the ball, gets knocked around by defenders too easily, and has the annoying tendency of changing his runs right at the point you pass to him. While his passing stats are nearly maxed out by an engine chem it doesn't ever feel like you're getting value for them; Pastore is often in the wrong area when he receives the ball and not strong enough to move the ball to a useful area where his passing skills can be utilised. He netted very few assists for me during my time using him.

What I was surprised with though was his predatory skills. He was often in the right place at the right time to poach easy goals, and he scored more than expected with his head. Being so tall you'd expect him to get a few headed goals but his tally for me in the 50-60 games I played with him was impressive. He also seemed to often be in a good place defensively, and seems to track back even when you tell him to stay up (which can be a blessing or a curse.)

Overall, I've now switched to IF Fekir and life is much better. Perhaps Pastore's card would be better out on the wing or as an RF, but for CAM or CM he's just too weak and lanky to be effective.

  • Green link to Mbappe
  • Cheap
  • Good poaching skills
  • Gets back on defense
  • Very weak
  • Constantly changes his runs right as you pass to him
  • Feels uncomfortable dribbling
  • Injury prone

CRACKING PLUR!!!!

Pastore is a really good CM (one of the best i've used) i would say hes better 2IF Mooy and mooy is really good. some of Pastore's in game stats are a lie like his strength feels like its in the 80s and i have a Hunter chem style on him. Hes long shots are also really really good and he's defending is good as well feels like 80. Pastore barely misses a pass as well. For the price he is defenly worth it and I would pay up t...

a odd player

i got him in a untradeable pack and i used him in a argentinian/belgian hybrid team because i wanted to see how good he is and he just didn't impress me enough to justify keeping him in the starting 11so i went back to my calcio A team and used him as a sub when the opposition is giving me trouble with a tight defence where strangely enough he's doing very well i use him in cam if i need headers or at full back if i ...
