Del Pierooooo!!!

Absolutely amazing as a CAM. Traded in SBC Rui Costa and don't regret at all. He makes perfect runs, can shoot from most places, inside and outside the box, and has great vision for making key passes.

As a striker, I found his speed to be problematic, often got outpaced and is easily pushed off the ball. Personally I switched him back to CAM after 10 games at ST because his perfomance varies so much in the two positions.

NOTE: Personally I DO NOT recommend Del Piero unless you are experienced at using low strength / high dribbling players:

Del piero can change directions extremely quickly due to his agility and precision dribbling can be used without skill moves no problem. His play style is best described as slow build up with lots of passing, you can make runs with him but its not the most effective way to use him. Shielding the ball has limited use against defenders due to his strength, he will get knocked over if you try and protect the ball with him, instead try and turn the defender before he closes the gap.

In terms of shooting, he is the best card I've used so far for long shots, both power and finesse, he can score easily from outside the penalty box. Low driven and close range finesse shots are just as effective with him due to his composure in front of goal however it is important to note long range shooting is easily his biggest strength.

Heading is underwhelming, not that this is unexpected. Free kicks are pin point accurate, easily better than 90 Gullit and 93 Henry who I have also used in the same team as him.

Overall Prime Icon Del Piero is a brilliant CAM or CF, however should not be treated as a high strength attacker as he just isn't.

Pace - Not that this is too relevant when played at CAM, do not recommend at ST

Cost - Obviously he is a 92 rated Prime Icon, so he is expensive, currently he is my second favourite out of the SBC icons after Prime Henry.

Strength - Probably his biggest weakness, I would only recommend Del Piero to experienced players who are capable of using high dribbling / low strength players.

What a BEAST!

I did the Del Piero SBC a couple of months ago. 226 games and 464 goals later I decides to write my first ever review. I have used a lot of good players, especially strikers, but I like Del Piero the most. He scores on almost every opportunity and it doesn't matter which foot he uses thanks to his 5 star weak foot. What a player!

Del Piero might just be the best player i've ever used in fifa. His Long shots, in my opinion are his greatest asset. This beautiful man can score from anywhere due to his 5 star weak-foot. In order to get him I traded in Rui Costa, who was great but lacked the true finishing to be elite. Del P will finish everything, legit everything.
