God in the midfield

I have been a fan of vieira since the fifa's of the early 2000's and also with his role in the france national team during that era. To my knowledge there has never been another player like him. In those old fifa's I did use him a lot as a cdm in 4-1-2-1-2 (small) formation and If I can afford him I still do today in ultimate team.

You may not be inclined to dish out all this money for a cdm but I can honestly say that he will be worth every penny. Sure he will not score you the goals, but he will make sure your opponent has a hard time scoring and he is a master at keeping the ball in midfield. He's not only stellar at defending, he also an amazing passer. Even from the cdm position in a 41212 formation you'll be able to pass the ball with ease to your strikers. Vieira 91 passes better than most cams, he hasn't failed a single pass in the 20-ish games I played with him.

He will also win every duel, it doesn't matter who he comes up against, he will win in the air and on the ground, the man is boss, They can hardly steal the ball from him too, and if they do, he'll just take it right back. If they try to pass and vieira is on that passing line, sorry access denied, 94 interceptions.

I did the sbc of rui costa because I didn't find any decent cams in the beginning of fifa 18. I knew rui costa wouldn't cut it for the entire year, but I was planning to put him in the sbc of vieira, because I know vieira is a player I will never feel like selling, there's no one better than him on the cdm position, not even close. That might not be the case with other icons, so this will probably be last big sbc that I do.

If you're a controlling defensive player or use counter tactics vieira 91 is a must have card. He will make your defense complete, control the midfield and even assist goals from the back line.

I have to start saying this is an absolute Black Beast in the midfield. He can almost win every ball there. If it's a short pass, he intercepts, run, he gets over it. Best defensive minded CM in the game

I decided to go big as I felt my midfield lacked both discipline and a leader. Spending 2 million coins on an untradeable icon is not the obvious choice and I would under no circumstance say that Vieira represent value for coins at all, but what a player he is. That's My Guy

Patrick Vieira is the best CDM in the game and it isn't even close. In 23 games he has only made 1 error; besides that he has been perfect. He brutally assaults defenders with the force of 3 men and gets away with it each and every time. The Desailly/Vieira dynamic duo is too much to handle (see my review on prime Desailly).
