Player Review
86 - SIF
Chem style: Anchor
Formation: 4-2-3-1 narrow (changing to it from 4-3-2-1 in-game)
Coming off having just purchased Sergio Ramos and De Gea, I was starting to look at his first in-form as a possible addition to my squad, seeing he's having a perfect link with Ramos so that trio can be used in any 4ATB squad. Then I saw him scoring those 2 goals against Deportivo and I was eagerly anticipating his SIF and WOW this card and the stats are really overwhelming, so I decided to buy him for 120k.
Apart from the nice defending, pace and physical stats, he really stands out with passing and ball control for a CB. As a player who enjoys possession, Nacho is basically the perfect CB for the players who like to keep the ball. I mean come on, 83 ball control, 82 composure, 87(!) short passing is just amazing, there are few CBs in the game who can compete with that. And I haven't even mentioned that he has 4* WF! Though he's only 179cm tall, making him a really short CB, so I was looking forward to see how he would preform in-game and see if that makes him unusable.
I've managed to play 16 games with him so far (Div 2-3) and I can't really express how satisfied I am with him. Using "aggressive interceptions" on him, he's really there to intercept the majority of passes coming towards the opponents forwards. With his strength, he really dominates the opponents in duels and wins them all. His standing tackles are also very OP and he intercepts most of the well-timed standing tackles you make. Since he's so quick he can really get to the opponents fast for that interception and take them by surprise. And I haven't even noticed that he's short. With his 87 jumping, he's also there to win the headers in defence, and he's also won many duels in attacking corners, although I haven't scored with him yet. And he really adds great value to my team with his passing abilities, making it easier to outplay highly pressing opponents since I can feel confident with him having the ball, and making the correct pass to a teammate nearby with both feet. I can even push forward with him with ease if I find space to get out of that pressing. But his biggest strength is his interceptions. I've taken the ball so easily from many of the elite players used, unlike what I usually do with other CBs.
I think he's just as good as Ramos in the defence, though I'd prefer Nacho due to M/M WR and 4* WF. Havn't used many other CBs in his price class, but hes notably better than Bailly, Varane, Koscielny, Sokratis and Manolas that I've also tried.
Something that adds great value to him are his links with other good players. I really enjoy the Nacho - Ramos - De Gea combo for example. I can imagine he'd be really good in a 3ATB defence as well as one of the side CBs.
Time to round up a long text, but I'd recommend for you to use him if you have a 120k to spare, since you will notice the difference between him and the most commonly used CBs.
