Player Review

I used David Luiz for 25 games in Division 1 Online Seasons. I picked up this card with necessity, as I needed to have a Brazilian Premier League defender for a hybrid squad. I used him next to Eric Bailly and Alex Sandro. I had high expectations due to glowing reviews and solid stats for a CB; ultimately I was let down. Luiz has some great qualities such as his pin-point passing for a defender, good physical attributes, and solid control on the ball. His largest disappointment; however, is the most important, his pace and positioning. Bailly and Sandro both had to try to bail him out constantly, and when they couldn't it ended in an opposing goal. I'll go into more detail below.
In summary, there are much better alternatives in the premier league - most notably Koscielny & Bailly. Unfortunately he is the only somewhat usable link to Sandro when trying to use a Prem. hybrid.
Passing: One of the better passers on the game for a CB.
Dribbling: Once he had possession of the ball, he felt more like a solid midfielder with how he was able to control it.
Physicality: Strong, decent in the air, and wasn't bullied by strong attackers.
Tackling: I felt that his tackling was middle of the line, but I'll list it as a pro anyway.
Pace: 70 pace is not realistic at all; even with the "Shadow" chemistry card applied. His 71 sprint speed may be somewhat accurate, but his 68 acceleration felt more like the low 60's to upper 50's. When he was burnt by pacey attackers, he could not keep up. Let's face it, once you're in Div 1,2,3 and weekend league, pace is a large factor for CBs. Koscielny and Bailly feel light years faster than this bloke.
Positioning: Although his work-rate of med/med sounded decent at first, I found Luiz pushing himself up the pitch at the wrong times. This coupled with his underwhelming pace led to easy goals for my opponents.
