Player Review
90 - SIF
I had previously used SIF Handanovic around a month ago, but I found him to be inadequate. I decided I'd give him a second chance and this review is based on that second chance, albeit everything supported my first impression.
Needed a Serie A goalkeeper to play in behind TOTY Bonucci and Ferdinand in FUTChamps. He lasted two games where he faced eleven shots on target and conceded eight goals, two saves he made gave up rebounds inside the six yard box where my opponent scored twice, one of the saves was a decent block, the other was a parry from a very weak shot that he ought to have held. A number of goals conceded were low driven from the edge of the area where he was very slow to get down getting nowhere near and a notable downgrade from Fahrmann who I had previously been using. On a non low driven shot he managed to get a hand to it but had a limp wrist, unable to stop the ball going in. Overall every chance from inside the area my opponent had resulted in a goal, two of these I'd consider clear cut but the rest I feel a better goalkeeper may have done better with.
The save he did make without giving up a goal was a fairly standard long range shot where he held the ball.
His distribution was pretty standard for a goalkeeper.
Overall SIF Handanovic has been very disappointing. Compared to Serie A keepers I've used he doesn't have the all round adequacy of Donnarumma, he misses the reflexes of IF Perrin and he's not as imposing in goal as IF Viviano.
- Not a liability at corner kicks
- Positioning is adequate and he at least saved a speculative long range shot. Yes I'm clutching at straws
- Reflexes, he really doesn't get down very well
- He struggles to parry the ball away from danger, giving up easy rebounds, even from fairly weak shots.
- Fails to be imposing, even getting a hand to the ball it's still gone in.
