Is he worth 3.6-3.8mln?

Ruud Gullit is like a cult and extremely hyped in FIFA 18 for good reason, he was a great player and had an even greater charisma with his distinctive dreadlocks. What makes him very tempting (and expensive) is that he is a true box-to-box player, just have a look at his stats, you can put him anywhere on the pitch. Playing with him is fun and he is good but more and more the question creep on me whether he is 3.8mln coins good. I played him mostly in a 4-2-3-1 formation on CAM, switching between left and center. Now with his price tag, which is more than twice the next most expensive player I have, KdB TOTY 96 he had to be the absolute best. But he wasn't, Kevin de Bruyne outperformed him in every way besides for defending but that's less important for me in this formation on a CAM position since 4-2-3-1 is already pretty defensive by itself.

De Bruyne consistently scored more, gave more assists, had better dribbling and passing stats in pretty much every match. So I decided to sell him and maybe get the baby version. I had fun with him but by selling him I can play with Messi (94) on CAM which sounds like a lot of fun too and I will still be able to buy another 1 or 2 good expensive players.

For me the biggest downside was that he just lost the ball too much, not as strong and fast as his stats would suggest. I also tried both hunter and I think Hawk chem on him but that didn't make a lot of difference.

Now to put things in perspective, I'm not the best player in the world to say the least. I play mostly professional level against AI. That means that better players are probably better equiped to get the full potential out of him but when I see that a similar player like KdB does a lot better with the same gaming skills and look at the price tag, I think he's just not worth it. It's been fun playing with him and obviously he had some great skills, especially positioning and unexpectedly he scored some great headers by moving himself away from defenders.

So for mediocre players like me I wouldn't recommend him for this kind of money, maybe try his baby version though that one is noticeably less good than this 90 card which sounds obvious but isn't always the case in my opinion.

If you're a great player than you know better than me anyway :)

Sorry for some missing stats, I sold him and then decided to write this review so I didn't have access to the stats anymore. But his scoring rate (mostly on LAM) was 3 in 5 and assist rate even slightly lower.

Everyone knows him and everyone wants him. However, I was lucky enough to spend get a few good packs in order to purchase this card. I bought him fresh for 3.1m and most likely won't sell him. Ridiculous

This man isn't fair, straight up. If you have the coins for him, buy him and don't think twice. If you currently have the 86 version and wondering if you should upgrade, do it no questions asked cause he's miles better. He is beyond clinical in the box, deadly outside the box, quick enough to catch anyone, and more than strong enough to muscle players off the ball.
