93 - TOTS
Packed this guy in a Bundesliga premium upgrade pack and was a bit put off as I'm already using TOTS Batshuayi and Timo Werner's 88 eMOTM and didn't think I could find a way to fit him into the squad. Had been using SIF Raffael at CAM and at this point in the game he wasn't really cutting it as he's just too small and not pacey enough to be used in competitive games.
Decided to give Uth a go at CAM and see what he could do, and once you get the hang of him, he's definitely a difference maker in that spot.
His work rates might cause some to steer clear, but if you play a narrow formation like the 4-1-2-1-2 narrow, he's really great at dropping into the gap between the mids and your strikers, just set him to stay forward and he'll be in the attack when you need him, but he'll still drop into space to clean up anything loose.
Once on the ball he feels very smooth for a bigger player. He's not going to dash in and out of tackles like smaller and more agile CAMs, but thanks to his size he can shrug off smaller midfielders and get himself into space easily.
Where does this card shine? Shooting..plain and simple, this guy has a rocket of a left foot. It takes a bit of getting used to if you're accustomed to playing with a right footed CAM, or even one with a 4* weak foot where it doesn't really matter what foot he hits it on. But get this guy on his left foot anywhere near the area and he is absolutely a goal scoring threat.
I have a Catalyst on him to get his pace up to 98 and to boost his curve for finesse shots. It doesn't really matter what your shot selection is with this guy however - with 97 shot power and 98 long shots, he can bang goals from all over the place.
He becomes very versatile once you hit a few long shots early and your opponent catches on that he's a threat and starts pulling his CBs up to cut that off. This is where the Catalyst really helps out too, as he can lay off passes into space without any trouble and easily transition back and forth from scorer to facilitator.
He's 6'0 and has 91 jumping and 96 heading accuracy, so if you prefer to play it out wide, set him to get into the box for crosses and he's definitely an aerial threat that will be a handful for any defender.
Overall, he seems much better suited as a CAM than a striker due to the 3* weak foot and his work rates. But if you're looking for a guy who can really command the top of a midfield diamond he's a great value for his price.
Shooting - On his left foot near the box he's an absolute menace
Size/aerial ability - He wins nearly everything in the air if it's near him
Movement - It's hard to explain, but he's just very smooth for his size. Doesn't feel super rapid, but he gets around the pitch very easily
Weak foot - You will find yourself avoiding hitting shots with his right foot. He can pass fine on both feet, but shooting on his weak foot is noticeably different
Skills - If you like skillers in your attacking positions he's not going to do much for you
Work rates - Can be countered once you figure out how to best use him, but he won't make a ton of dashes forward and has a tendency to drop very deep defensively at times
