This year's Kanté...?

It is early to tell, but this guy could be this year's biggest surprise at CM/CDM position, like last year's Kanté was. They are very similar players, and I think the smaller body type makes them so damn good at launching in and taking the ball all over the field. The difference is that Mooy is exceptional at passing and defending as well which makes him a Nainggolan type of a player. So he's like Kanté as a card-phenomenon but he plays more like Nainggolan. The kind of player for which the basic chem style is the OP one...

Diamond or the like may be the best formations for him.

Well, almost everything, as a CM/CDM. I saw a top 10 squad battles player use him in his OP team, alongside Pogba. He could be a new cheap meta player.

Pace is very very good. I think EA makes the stats in regard of the body types: a heavier player will move slower even with higher pace, while a smaller player like Kanté or Mooy is all around the pitch all game.

Man marking is not as good, which makes his defense stat lower, but again, he's a Kanté-type fast missile and his tackling (even just with jockeying) is OP. You should pair him up with a Matic-type so that Mooy can go almost box-to-box.

Med-med workrates are actually better for this position I reckon, because he won't venture too far or fall way back, so that he can be used all time in the midfield. And he will score the occasional longshot like Nainggolan (and unlike Kanté).

Dribbling: well, you could do without Kanté's and Naingoolan's four star skill moves right?
